I wouldn't say that, it took one hell of a mob to do them. They ran the brits back home, took on the ruskies for years in their own back yard, The country was absolutley fecked flat by the bombers and thirty years later they were back up and running full throttle. Then the wall comes down and all the east european gypos flood the gaff and the turks and they still manage to accomodate them and run things smoothly. they legalise brothels and off they go.
Cool nice relaxed people but their fecking language is dreadful sprachendeee spruchendee fuckendee cuntandee...sounds awful....but hey no ones perfect

The government says britain can't have a decent manufacturing sector because our standard of livIng is too high to pay all the menial laborers and the pound is too strong to export whatever we make.

Well, the Germans manage well enough.

They used to be pretty good at it. On our last encounter, they drove us back across the Channel - only to return when we had reinforcements from across the Atlantic! Pity that they now shy away from the heavy lifting in war zones when they could do so much more.

Germany have a more balanced economy with a strong industrial sector which is highly productive and that produces high value products that China, Brazil and other economies at some distance from the crisis now want. This is helped by the Euro - the failings of Greece, Ireland, Portugal and Spain acting as brake on a catastrophic rise in the Euro. Imagine how strong the Deutsche Mark would now be if Germany still used it and what impact it would have on their ability to export competitively. The German government must be rubbing their hands every time they have to dig into their pockets to help out countries like Greece - a small price to pay compared to the benefits of containing the Euro.
