Yeovil Town will take on Cardiff City in a pre-season friendly at Huish Park, it has been announced. Dave Jones' men will play the Glovers on Tuesday July 26th with a 7.45pm kick-off.

City may arrive at Yeovil as a Premier League team having qualified for the end-of-season playoffs where they will face Reading in the semi-final two-legged match, the first leg at the Madjeski Stadium on Friday of this week.

The two sides met in the FA Cup third round in 1999 with the Bluebirds triumphing 2-1 after extra time in the replay. The Glovers had drawn one apiece at Ninian Park with a goal from ex-Cardiff striker Carl Dale and had equalised late on in the second tie through Matt Hayfield before Kevin Nugent hit a winner following a Tony Pennock error.

The two sides met in a pre-season friendly in July 2007 when the Welsh visitors left with a 2-0 victory in front of 2,371 supporters. Previous to that, the two sides met in 2004 with the game resulting in a 3-3 draw.
