'The Quite Remarkable David Coleman'

Tue May 10, 2011 9:18 pm

Sorry if this has been posted before but I missed it last Tuesday on the beeb, the press raved about it. Strangely not on iPlayer :?

But have just downloaded it and watched a brilliant documentary about the greatest commentator that ever lived. I grew up with this man and used to dream about being a commentator like him as a wee lad. He only had to speak and the hairs would pop up on my neck. Those 70's world cup and cup finals was broadcasting at its best. Also the Coe/Ovett years were ace.

Missed the show as well, but Coleman was the main man when growing up watching the football .

The 1966 World Cup,some of his quotes were outstanding.

Match of the day in the 70's,again lots of quotes,i remember the "LEE - Just look at his face "

But best of all his " ONE - NIL " In Cup Finals and most games... David Coleman = Legend.
