Rallying Call

Tonight we stand on the brink of history.
Bluebirds together in the face of adversity.
We are not a group of individuals or strangers.
We are family. We are one.
I call upon all you who have felt the highs and the lows to come on this one last journey.
Fear the worst by all means, but demand the best.
Do not be scared of what might be.
Do not dread the darkest hour.
Tonight will show what we can be provided we stand together.
I do not know all of you personally. I am not your best friend. I am not your son. I am not your father. But tonight we are all brothers (and sisters!).
There will be the chaos and there will be moments when it feels like all is lost.
But I plead with you; keep the faith no matter what.
Even when the clouds have gathered and there seems to be no light, believe.
If all hope is gone, stand tall and remember we will survive and fight on.
For one last night let us show the world just who we are.
Let us show the old enemy that there is still a roar in this Dragon’s belly.
Let us be one and stand defiant in the face of horror and smile sadistically straight back.
Tonight can be our night, no matter what.
Tonight we can make history.
So silence the boos and banish the negativity.
For 90 minutes or more tonight we are the most powerful force on Earth.
We, Cardiff, are the most amazing group on this planet.
Within us there is a beast that is re-awakening.
So let us show this world just what we have to give and for one last time to push to Wembley, we will sing in unison…
