1 - David Marshall - STAY
2 - Kevin McNaughton - HOPE TO GOD HE STAYS
3 - Lee Naylor - OUT I'd sell him in a heartbeat. Who am I kidding, I'd let him go on a free.
4 - Gavin Rae - OUT Been here far too long now.
5 - Mark Hudson - STAY
6 - Gabor Gyepes - STAY
7 - Peter Whittingham - STAY As important as keeping McNaughton. A thinking man's footballer without a doubt ;)
8 - Michael Chopra - UNSURE - If he can get back to peak fitness and sort his life out, he's a keeper without a doubt.
9 - Jay Bothroyd - OUT Already gone IMO
10 - Stephen McPhail - Depends on his fitness nowadays and who's willing to take him off us. UNSURE.
11 - Chris Burke - Desperately want the guy to STAY
14 - Paul Quinn - STAY
16 - Jon Parkin - STAY so he doesn't score against us.
22 - Tom Heaton - STAY
23 - Darcy Blake - STAY
26 - Martin John - OUT Daft signing. Never was going to be enough for where we want to be.
29 - Jonathan Meades - STAY Would like to see fresh youth coming through
30 - Jordan Santiago - OUTCan go if not better than Bywater
39 - Craig Bellamy - STAY. Wants to stay, needs to stay, please stay!!!
49 - Nathaniel Jarvis - STAY
Keinan - STAY (did I delete him? :? )

I think we can safely say fare thee well to all but one of our illustrious loanees. If Jones couldn't get the old Koumas back nobody will. Rumours up here Megson is trying to take him to Wednesday for next season :?

Which leaves us shy of a full back, another centre back (imo) and a central midfielder or two. Again. And three strikers at least. I'm stumped.

BOTHROYD HAS ALREADY SIGNED A PRE-CONTRACT WITH QPR.

and im happy because his head goes too early.

I'd rather Earnie back. He came on against the jacks and was well up for it and look hungry. Then we should just sign one of the top scorers from League One who know how to find the net.

Mackail Smith
Lambert

You are saying sell to players out of contracts.

Marshall
Heaton
McNaughton
Hudson
Keinan
Gerrard
Blake
Quinn
Naylor
Whitts
McPhail
Chopra
Parkin

Thats the team who have contracts for next year.

That's 13 players.

You sure boss? That's crazy and it's also stupid that I forgot Gerrard. Has to be worth keeping him.

But yeah, change is nigh at City, be it in the dugout or on the playing field.

We are not far away for me... This is what's annoying. With another manager with a different mentality.

I think Danny Graham is a must up front for next season, surely he'd be chomping at the bit to come here? A couple of decent midfielders (No names actually come to mind apart from Brown etc, but I want a creative player).

There will be a squad overhaul for me no doubt no matter what. But Graham is a must for me... Alongside another strong striker with someone like Bellamy in the side, we will tear defences apart. He should have been signed in January at all costs...

Agree with both those 2 names James, would love either 1.

Mackail Smith, i have posted on her before was a target for us,but i think that Norwich will be in for him.

Another 2 who would have to step up are the 2 at Chesterfield - Lester and Davies.

I like your post Topcat but don't want Lester or Davies.

Lester is too old and Davies is a much worse version of Bothroyd.

For me it's Danny Graham up front and another decent goal scorer with a strong lad like Ricky Lambert on the bench.

No offense but he can get lost. Don't put in a shift for all 90 mins and once he had his England cap and thought he'd clinched a move to a decent prem outfit he stopped putting the effort in.

Now hes signed for QPR on pre-contract.

I can guarantee you this news will emerge in the next few weeks.

No, not that I'm aware of but I have an unerring feeling (someone may have mentioned something on here) that this is half way they sent him so far up to Scotland, to get away from the home comforts - like going out with mates. It's home for him, of course, and I daresay the temptation would be there as he's only human.

Should clarify that's all just conjecture on my part btw, I've no idea where that got into my head but it did.

No problem with what you say mate and if he has signed for QPR then I feel the same way, completely unacceptable for me.

Basically we need to get the best manager that we can afford and allow him to recruit a good team of coaches and scouts. You need to have a strong team off the field before you can possibly hope to have a strong team on the field. There are loads of good players out there but it appears that we are too lazy to go out and find them. We need a better scouting network abroad and we need to get more pace in the team. Apart from Bellamy who did we have to terrorise opposition defences?? A lot more foreign flair, particularly in midfield would be welcome....players who are not afraid to keep the ball (because they have the skill and confidence to do so) and players who are able to beat a man with a burst of speed.

It's a big task and a big ask....but it's achieveable. Yesterday was another accident waiting to happen and it's better that it didn't happen at Wembley against the Jerks. And it was always going to signal a huge clearout of players and staff and will leave a massive task for an incoming manager....but we ARE a big club with big support and great facilities. We must be attractive to good managers and good players and if we get the right people in charge we WILL reach the promised land. It's over to the Malaysians now to make the right decisions. Let's hope they are inspired.

I'd be up for selling all of them except Marshall, McNaughton, Hudson, Quinn, Heaton, Blake and Bellamy. Burke is too inconsistent for me and as much as I love the guy, it is inconsistency that always costs us. So yeah, keep those and the rest can leave.
