We need someone young (certainly younger than DJ), who is not a pushover, who is a good tactician, who is better than DJ in dealing with the media (including Media Wales!) and someone who is passionate about the job !

I went for Avram Grant
Mon May 23, 2011 8:53 pm
I've had a long hard think about it and I'd like to see malcky McKay in charge here now...... Looking at all the other candidates he seems the stand out to me.

What do you mean......I've never seen anyone with as much passion as good ole' Avram!! His record is outstanding: 2 relegations in 2 years with 2 clubs....beat that!

Where's Martin O'Neil?
Mon May 23, 2011 9:06 pm
The ONLY two who can take us up is Warnock or O`Neil
Mon May 23, 2011 9:09 pm
I can't believe anyone thinks Roy Keane is an option
Mon May 23, 2011 9:11 pm

We have to be realistic in hunting for a new manager, e.g. @Cwmann_Bluebird who is totally the opposite
"We need someone young (certainly younger than DJ), who is not a pushover, who is a good tactician, who is better than DJ in dealing with the media (including Media Wales!) and someone who is passionate about the job !"
You have basically just described Jose Mourinho!
Cardiff will employ someone who can get us out of the division, someone like Neil Warnock or maybe even Billy Davies etc...
But on the other hand i believe that the we should get a young emerging, unproven manage give someone like - Robbie Savage or Gary Neville the nod.

If Dave Jones doesn't stay I'd like to see Chris Hughton (former Newcastle manager). Did a brilliant job of getting Newcastle
into the Premiership and was doing okay until they sacked him for some reason.

WE really need a players manager, a guy that players want to play for, and a manager that can and do attracted players and has an eye for fresh and hungry talent. O YES ! And that small but most important quality , PASSION!
Mon May 23, 2011 9:45 pm
Di Matteo's barmy army!
Mon May 23, 2011 9:50 pm
RAFA BENITEZ is looking for a club in Britain !!
I'm sure Bellers will get on with him from their Liverpool days...........although I guess he would be a bit concerned at the training base being at the Vale given Bellers history with golf clubs !!

If you want opinions , genuine opinions give us a free vote not this shambolic attempt to limit the runners & riders ! I think its time for DJ to go but some of the names on that list arent worthy of lacing his boots ! Laughable !

KEEGAN!

It's interesting, this thread. It betrays a distinct lack of knowledge of the managers themselves in relation to what we as a club need right now.
People complain about Jones not having a plan B and then suggest Ian Holloway.
People complain about Jones being out of touch with the media and then suggest Roy Keane.
People say we need somone who can work on a limited budget and then suggest Hughton.
I think Annis' criteria are generally spot on - but he couldn't have picked two options further from matching the criteria!!!
Young
Passionate
Able to deal with the media
Able to put up with the fans and relate to them
Has a plan B
Tactically switched on
Likes to play football
There are two men I know fit all these criteria.
Mark Robins, ex of Barnsley, who is also used to dealing without much money.
Slaven Bilic, the man who worked wonders with Croatia. A more passionate man in football you will not find, that I promise you.

Warnock or Poyet for me, Holloway just came down because he had no plan B............

Robbie Di Matteo. got West Brom out of this division playing great football and was unlucky to get sacked at West Brom this season

This 'better the devil you know' theme is starting to piss me off
The 'Devil we know' has failed!!!
If you were trying a key in a lock and it wasnt turning, would you
carry on trying with that key because its the one in your hand??
Or would you try another key?
