Scholes retires

Tue May 31, 2011 9:20 am

Thought we could use a break from managers/swansea etc

sad to see Paul Scholes retire. Surely he had to go down as one of the greatest English footballers of all time? 10 prem titles and two champions league trophies. Not to mention the Fa Cups and league cups.

Ok, he couldn't tackle for shit, but I would say he is one of the most professional players ever. Passionate, not money orientated, good family man and loyal. He's been just as important to United as Giggs but doesn't get the recognition. At one time, all the EPL keepers said he had the hardest shot. And Zidane said he was the best of his generation. Its a shame this breed of footballer is dying out :ayatollah:

One of the best passers ever too ... tackling was his ownly downside to a near perfect midfielder, shy's away from media too, never in the spotlight, only for the right reasons! shame there wasn't more like him!

Talking about his tackling on talksport last week and Andy Gray thought criticism of he tackling was not fair His argument was he knew what he was doing therefore made fouls where he needed to Thought that was a good point from a former player
