If you were interviewing managers what would you ask?

Wed Jun 08, 2011 7:55 am

We've all had the 'what can you bring to the business', and 'what are your aspirations for the future' etc etc - but if you were interviewing what would you ask potentials??

Also what do you think Jenkins (ex-egg) and Whitely (solicitor) can think to ask someone who will effectively be running our football club?

I would ask how you expect to appease a fan base that demands every match won and promotion in first season ?

Also what players from the lower divisions (thats left ) would they sign to bring on .

What do you think of people in this part of the world?

Would you be prepared to work with a budget set at 60% of the clubs revenue.

Swansea, Norwich and Blackpool has all shown promotion to the PL is possible with that limit in place. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Great thread.

If I was interviewing, my question would be "If you could compare yourself to one other manager, who would it be?" - Think about it.

Would you have a Plan B and C at your disposal BEFORE the game?
Would you be able to get through a game without having to ask Terry what to do next?
Can you smile?
Would you see a need to put down City fans or S Wales continually?
Do you see Peter Whittingham, who scored 25 goals from the left wing the season before last, as a defensive central midfielder, 5 yards in front of the centre-backs?
Would you play a defensive midfielder as an attacking midfielder?
Do you rate Lee Naylor at £15k/week?
Will you try and get Adam Matthews back from Celtic?

StT.

Do you have a potential list of players you could see us signing? ... or something along those lines, see if he's got an eye for upcoming potential or players who have already made a name for themselves

I would tell him that whoever we employ, the primary task is to achieve
Premiership Football for next season, the whole Club is geared up for it from the
Chairman to the tea lady, its where we belong, its where our Supporters deserve
to be, its where the City of Cardiff has GOT to be. That is the clubs statement of
Intent.....

now, Mr ******

What makes you think you are the man to bring all this about, cos no matter what
we in the Boardroom say or do... its on the pitch where promotion will be achieved
... and that would be YOUR responsibility, we cannot help you once the referee blows
that whistle!!!

So.... disregarding any thoughts of how big your budget will be for a moment....

Sell yourself to us, what will you bring to Cardiff City that the other applicants cant
or wont...
