The Real Madrid 'heros'

Sat Jun 11, 2011 10:00 am

I managed to get down to see the Trust evening with the Real Madrid players last night and it really was excellent.

It was well organinsed by people who put their time aside for the benefit of the club and its fans, and i could see that for many it really meant a lot to recall old memories (not for me as I'm too young, BUT seeing the faces and the flags over the wall did give me pride to be part of this fantastic fooball club)

I also met the famous Frank, who tried to sell me a Real Madrid poster whilst I was having a pee

What was best of all though was seeing how humble the ex-players were and how genuinely pleased they were to be there, 40 years on, and to still be remembered. What great bunch of blokes with real camerarderie, and some hilarious stories.

Another thing that amazed me was how quickly Corky could move when it was announced the grub was ready
