No it wasn't. Shearer got 5 points in 8 games in charge. He was very much to blame for their relegation

Then i stand corrected, but what happened in the previous 30 games that put them in that precorious postion means nothing??
He was brought in in as some kinda saviour, it did'nt come off (last 8 games) how can he be to blame????? The man did'nt stand a chance to turn it around, NO im not a closett shearer/Newcastle fan, but fair play where due he was always FOOOOOKED....
