Lets all unite behind Shearer

Regardless of what we think we need to back Shearer all of the way.

He might not be the number 1 choice of us fans but he does have many good contacts in the game. For a start there are his many good contacts in the prem league. Who knows we might end up with a gk of the calibre of Shay Given, Frazer Forster or Steve Harper.

He has worked with many top coaches and managers ranging from Bobby Robson (RIP) to Venables.

He is held in high esteem by those in the game and as a household name think of all those young players who would want to play for him.

He is also passionate about the game and will show the emotion that us fans want.

The key to his success will be the appointment of a good assistant/coaching team.

I think it will be short lived and over rated..

Hope you are wrong fella-in fairness Shearer was a model pro compared to Fowler who was a good player but aan overpaid mercenary.

I wanted McKay but I've really warmed tonthe shearer idea and now anything less would be a let down.
