Bridgend new stadium

Sat Jun 25, 2011 10:47 am

Anyone see that on the news about a new stadium going on in Bridgend? Their planning flew through a bit fast didn't it? Despite massive local objections.

Did they for instance have to employ independant butterfly experts to study the impact of any possible rare butterfies on the land on which they are to build? Costing a packet and time!
Did they have to employ independant people to study the impact on roads for a ten mile radius? Costing a packet and time!
Did they then have to build new roads? Costing a packet and time!
How about getting independant experts in to make sure the trees you were cutting down didn't have any protected birds living in them? And pay those experts to verify that the existing nests are crows, magpies and they are vacant? Costing a packet and time! Of course after you've paid independant experts to report on those trees in case they were rare or protected?

Just wondering like. Or is that only for building football stadiums in Cardiff.

You've got a point there Steve. Isn't it funny how when the macho rugby boys got involved our planning flew through as well.
