I'm not anti-strike.

I think the whole system is fucked up.

They will raise the age you will be able to claim a state pension again.

If cut backs are needed don't allow people to claim benifits from the UK who have never paid a penny in tax. That would fix the problem.

Then tell the full story before you post.

And the dole is the problem.

Half of all the tax you pay goes to people on the dole.

Nice debate :D - the fact is that 92% of the public are 100% against this pathetic strike and these people who don't go to work on Thursday should be ashamed of themselves - very selfish people and a tad greedy. Lets hope the kids picket the gates on Friday to stop the selfish greedy teachers getting in?

BUT YOU ARE NOT PAYING FOR THE MISTAKES OF THE BANKERS!!!!!!!!

The Banks bring in 96% of the countries wealth.

OUR WHOLE GDP IS BASED ON WHAT THE BANKS BRING IN!!!!!!!!!!!!

How much do you in public sector bring in?

Do you know what % of the council budget goes towards pensions?

I think it's you that doesn't have a clue.

Like the Greeks?

In the sense that the Greeks tax dodge and are the main reason they are in the shit that they are? If they paid their taxes they wouldn't be in the mess that they are!

We are lucky to have good jobs and with good planning and tight budgeting we'll get there, but what about less fortunate people...they'll rent all their lives with know real assets to show of at the end.

I personally think the government should force the banks to contribute at least 15% towards the cost of new home owners mortgages (to replace end of year bonuses). Only if the world worked the way I wanted it to aye.

I actually agree with you on the points above BUT it's NOT the fault of the people who have worked hard all their lives. It is, to some extent, unfortunate timing and things SHOULD be done to sort it out by this Government....

My post wasn't personal (I hope it didn't come across like that) but I am frustrated that this Government are going after the easy option rather than caning the people (bankers etc) that caused the problem in the beginning with their irresponsible lending policies....

When I set out it was like an interview with the Money Police for a £500 loan to buy a car to get to work....

Tax has nothing to do with the strike on Thursday ...... well not directly anyway . The government both now and previous have overspent on many many things so they need to reduce the defecit from their squandering now that their biggest Tax income ( smoking ) has reduced a hell of a lot , so the only 2 things left to attack are public employees and the millions out of work ! Maybe the government need to reduce inflation from 4.5% for starters , reduce the amount of money thrown at out of work people , have a look how much money the MoD spends in funding our Armed Forces overseas ( Im not knocking the boys out there coz they do a job that I wouldnt want to do ) plus ALL the MP's , AM's , SMP's etc need to have a look at the high salaries they themselves are on and cut that budget too ? Then how much money does the Govt throw at banks both in the UK and abroad , maybe that should no longer happen ? I think its a pisstake that both the Northern Rock and RBS get bailed out YET they are allowed to sponsor high profile a rugby tournament and a football club ! If Greece , Ireland and Portugal wish to over charge for their products then its of little wonder with the Euro at approx 1.1 to the £ that theor economies are struggling especially from tourism !

Without the banks you wouldn't get a f*cking penny.

Great call on the people from oversees claiming benifit.

They can come him and claim benifits. But they are not allowed to work? f*cking crazy.

I live in Grangetown and the place is over run with people from Romania.

By law they are not allowed to work.

By law they are allowed to claim benifits?

How the f**k does that work?

How the f**k does that make sense?

What everyone has to accept and understand is that we need the banks.

We need the money they bring in.

If we had not bailed them out we would be a 3rd world f*cking country.

New public sector workers, before the banks even fucked up, were not given the same pension scheme as past employees were as it simple cost to much.

I'll try!

Half off all your tax goes towards benifits.

Walk around where you live and I bet you will find a number of people playing the system

I'm going to pop to the shop.

I'm going to walk past a number of homes that are filled with Romanian families.

* Houseing and council tax paid.

* Benefits.

* Free health care and education.

And by law they are not allowed to work.

I'm no member of the EDL. They are a bunch of fags.

But the current EU set up we have with Romania just doesn't make sense to me and there is where the cut backs need to be made.

I live in the Cynon ( sign on ) valley and my mrs works for those who give money to the unemployed so I do know a bit , cant comment on Romanians Im afraid but our Polish Bus Drivers and Care Home Workers do a cracking job  I do know tho that those on long term benefits are in for 1 hell of a shock over the coming months ! Re: All these cretins going on strike Thursday......

That's correct.

The Poles are allowed to work and I think do a pretty good job.

But the Romanians are NOT allowed to work.

I'd love an extra day off after my Bank Holiday! I'd love a four day weekend!

Education is probably more important than anything.

Good teachers should be rewarded.

It's as simple as that.

Capitalism has almost run it's course, you just can't keep "adding on" when world resources are depleting and the population is rapidly increasing.

The global community needs to take responsibility and preventative action immediately otherwise mother nature is gonna give us a fair swoop off the back of her hand.

It's time to take action.

Banking is not manufacturing, they may fund a lot of it, but that is only since the system is built on debt.

say sorry mate, we've fucked the country up, your pension is gone.

How very dare he put up a fight

Anyone who genuinely believes this country is 'skint' knows f**k all about the World Economy.

In a nutshell, what Britain is saying is that it owes (for instance) £500 billion, and must make
cuts in order that the Country doesnt go bankrupt.. its like having a 25yr mortgage and
crippling yourself to get it paid off in 5 yrs. Nobody is chasing Britain for money

Its all part of a plan to f**k the Public service Sector off (cos they are protected by the unions)

in a few years time, when your house is on fire, and a gang of Iraqi's turn up in a mini-bus with
buckets of water and a couple of fire extinguishers (Netto, special offer) you can be safe in the
knowledge that they wont be 'crippling' Britain with extravagant pension demands

Still talking complete shite. After what Carl posted you were wrong about Shearer.

They don't lose what they pay in. The Govt can't match and stick to the deal.

In the public sector your payments are mactched by your employer.

That doesn't happen in the private sector. Your employer won't match what you have paid in.

Have you got something wrong with you? Still on about Shearer??
Shearer could not cope with playing second fiddle to Bellamy. End of.

Public sector workers are being asked to pay up to THREE TIMES the amount
in contributions in exchange for far less than their original pension deals worth

THE GOVERNMENT ARE ASKING FOR MORE OFF THEM IN EXCHANGE FOR LESS

What are you on about??
