" DAVID GOODWILLIE TO CARDIFF "

Tue Jun 28, 2011 9:06 pm

The very latest and most up to date situation is that David Goodwillie has been speaking with the Dundee Utd hierarchy today and has been told he is not going anywhere for the time being, despite him believing that he was coming to Cardiff today to take part in a medical.

Dundee Utd are waiting for a bigger offer other than Cardiff's and that offer they expect to come from Blackpool who were the other club that bid for Goodwillie a few days ago.

Goodwillie wants to come to Cardiff but Utd believe they can get a bidding war going on for him.

Personally I cannot see this dragging on too much longer either way, as I don't think Cardiff will get into a bidding war.

Unless it's resolved quickly, we should move on.

Maybe, Goodie can force their hand?

give them 24 hours, take it or leave it, if not, then tell them get lost and we'll sign someone else.

he can always say to Dundee that your going to have to accept the offer vrom Cardiff, or im not going anywhere, as i believe we will offer better wages than Blackpool ,plus the fact that Conway is already here

Fine. Don't take him. Despite being desperate for cash, we'd happily keep a lad that will score us 20 goals a season.

We're asking for 2 million which I think is fair. Maybe we should hold out for more.

It's DG's decision in the end.

If Blackpool come in and trump our bid DG could turn down the move if he wanted to come here with Conway. Obviously if Blackpool offer him much more in wages he may go there but if the wage offers are similar Conway and MM may sway it for us.

Dundee then have to decide if they want the millions from us or hold onto a player who wants to leave.

What source do you have that Cardiff City have offered Dundee United 2 million?

Goodie would be a smash hit at Cardiff
Warren Feeney has told David Goodwillie to head for Cardiff City — because he’ll be an instant hero with the fanatical Bluebells support (writes Tom Duthie).
Feeney, who spent a year as Goodwillie’s team-mate when he was on loan from City at United in the 2008-9 season, also feels a move to Wales would be the ideal springboard to the English Premier League.

This is what i think may happen.

How long has he got left on his contract. If it is only 12 months he may have a slight chance of forcing their hand. If two more years or longer then the club hold all the cards. At the end of the day they would be delighted to keep him. I guess neither us nor any other club has met their asking price of £2m.

Dundee fans rate him massively, I mean massively.
Goodie needs to tell them he won't join Blackpool if he wants to come.

Tell Dundee you have till 2 o'clock tomorrow if they say no we will withdraw our offer, then we will ring Blackpool and
tell them we are out and to to offer less than us.
Two can play that game !

He has 2 years of his contract left.

He is not transfer listed. No team has met Dundee United's valuation. Why this is starting to piss people off confuses me. Some of you are beginning to sound like Old Firm fans.
