Why would he trade Cardiff (Play-offs last season, most potential to gain promotion) or boring ole Pompey ? :ayatollah:

He'll remember scoring that free-kick in the play-offs and realise Cardiff are a better club! :ayatollah:

You guys seem to be forgetting that Bothroyd and Chops clearly read this forum so stop slagging off players and show some support.
Whitts is a top player, sure everyone has their bad days, but we would be stupid to let him go whatever price people offer. We can't afford to be losing anymore players from the squad especially not one with such talents on the wing.
So do the ayatollah if you love Peter Whittingham :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Most assists too Bellamy - Whitts

Played deeper than he should be by DJ - Whitts

Most goals over the last two seasons - Whitts

Certainly up there if not the highest assists over two seasons - Whitts

His last season was better than the season before.

Who cares what two FORMER Cardiff players think?

Whitts is quality, but needs the team set up specifically for him to flourish. He's not a winger, never really dominated in central midfield either imo. Great vision to pick a pass, at times can slow the game down too much. Lack of pace means he's more a "Beckham style" winger. Everything I've seen of Watford under Mackay indicated Malky likes his wingers with pace, pit the byeline, get crosses into the box - which isn't Whitts game. Add in the fact that for every one moment of brilliance, there's 3-4 quiet games, got to wonder if the light bulb will ever click and the consistency will arrive, something his talents deserve.

Factor in he's almost certainly a high earner and may well not fit into Mackay's vision of the kind of winger he wants, if the price is high enough, sure.

Whitts will not leave, especially if his Mrs will have anything to do with it :ayatollah:

Does that mean Malky wants to keep him?? Seeing as we've turned down Pompey?

I agree that sometimes he doesnt seem to slot in anywhere naturally, but on his
day he is one of the best players in the division, easily!

If Malky wants him, lets get behind him 100%
