All he's up for today is to enter a plea.

If he pleads guilty, he'll get seen at a later date, and fined, cos thats how it works.

If he pleads not guilty.... I bet within a fortnight the Crown will drop the charges

Would be more worried by the rape charge, probably a fine for this one, but if we sign him he needs to sort himself out.

It's pretty much common knowledge up here in Dundee that the rape case has frittered away to nothing. It has already been put back due to lack of evidence and nothing has been heard since.

Ahhhh I did jury duty there 2 years ago, happy days, lol

This case will be heard by a Sheriff (Magistrate in England & Wales) and the plead is against a charge on a summary complaint. In Scotland this type of charge is normally dealt with on the day and this court has strict maximums on sentancing like £10k fine or 3 months imprisonment.

Goodwillie may not even have to be present in court as cases can he heard in the absence of the defendant, my guess would be he will plead guilty and get a fine of anything from £10 - £10k as surely any risk of a prison sentance and his brief would have advised the case be taken to the Crown Court and a Jury.

Although 1 guy involved had the charges against him dropped last week 2 others were committed to Crown Court for trial on a more serious Assualt charge (Not Summary Complaint).

Lets hope the guy just gets the fine he deserves for getting involved in a public brawl.
