I wouldn't say let them die, a bit harsh, but we should sort our own problems out before we try and solve others problems. A bit of that money going back into our own economy to try to stimulate industry and help our unemployment problems wouldn't go amiss.

I'm very reluctant to support giving financial aid to other countries when we are ballsing it up on our own turf. I think this is why a lot of people are finding it hard to sympathise with the cuts this government are making. They'll say we have to tighten our belts and sacrifices have to be made. Then we're bailing Greece and Ireland out (Ireland, I may say, offers a ridiculously large amount for those on the dole so you don't have to look far to see where their problems lie!) and giving millions in financial aid to a country that will remain in the same state for the next few generations due to the corrupt nature of those in power.

Sorry but the government really doesn't help itself. The Ethiopians have my total heartfelt condolence but we have too many issues to deal with right now.

That is about 90p - £1 from every tax payer, I think that is easily an acceptable amount.

Not a bad idea (if you were looking for a bite) But people would argue that we do need
our Armed Forces, most countries have an Army (including Ethiopia)..stop sending ours to

in relative luxury compared to Ethiopians.

I DO believe we have been sending money to Ethiopia and the like for far too long, it
always ends up the same way. Corrupt troops and Government officials divert the
money for their own ends, shame on the people but what does Britain do? keep sending
them money year after year when they have no idea bout birth control and keep dropping

over there to feed the Country ten times over... yet they manage to feed half a million
military personell, they manage to spend a billion a year on defence, and not a penny

It's not just that one country though, there's lots of others. We are behaving like Dell Boy, we are on the bones of our arse and we are giving it the big one flashing cash around to everyone.

India is the one that pisses me off the most. They say the 4-5 Billion we give them every year goes to the slums etc. Well if India chooses to spend their own money on nuclear arms and a space program rather than look after their own people then surely that's their choice. India is not a new country, they've been around long enough to sort themselves out without having to bum off other countries in the world.

I'd love to see the UK have it's own space program, so can we not give those billions to India and spent it on our very own space program? Tell India to simply cancel their space program and give the money they save to their poorest people in the slums? Sorted!
