heaton or marshall?

who would you prefer?

For me Heaton every time but I think MM will go with Marshall

If Heaton's nerves/confidence issues are correct then Marshall every day of the week.

think we'll see a improvement in both our keepers this season now margetson has gone. i'd go for marshall though

Mackay will choose Marshall but both are very good IMO i like both of them do NOT need a new keeper

I can't see him being nervous and anxious ? He's played most of the season and in some big games! Nerves dont just hit you just because you might be playing in a playoff semi-final..... Either somebody has taken it out of context or it is made up bollocks IMO.

Personally I think Marshall & Heaton are on quite a level pegging on who's better than who - as each have their strengths and weaknesses! If I really had to chose though, an on-form Scotlands no.1 for me!

Both good keepers at this level, although i prefer Heaton, His absense was clear for all to see in the play-offs and the run-in IMO.

or should we get a new kepper?

I can't see why people see our GKs as weak links or a real problem.

Both are good Championship Gks, both are still very young for their position and have experience as a first team regular.

Yes they don't have great attributes when it comes to collecting crosses but both are agile, loud, good shot stoppers, have decent distribution from hand (although a little slow at times).

I feel that most of Heaton's confidence problems last year stemmed from our back 4 being all over the place from the word go.

Hopefully a solid back 4 with Super Kev, Hudson/Gerrard, Keinan and Taylor will bring some confidence back.

Happy with either keeper in but I think Heaton just about pips it.

Despite what anybody says we're spoilt with two quality GK's at this level. They both have their faults but hopefully a new manager and new GK coach will be able to address their weaknesses. Given the choice though I think I would go for Marshall, overall better GK. Who ever is No. 1 needs to know their No. 1 - GK's need that sort of backing and confidence more than any other position.

No point buying a new keeper, waste of money, both competent keepers, lets not forget Goalkeepers generally peak at 28-30 years old, Heaton is 25 and Marshall is 26, both will improve
