A friend of a friend is a Graphic Designer, used to do Album covers but I haven't seen her for around 20 years...

Depends how good they are really and what contracts they get. Some freelancers and agencies get hundreds of pounds a day. However there are so many out there these days you really need to stand out.

Depends where they are based as well really, if its Cardiff it will probably be tough as there are quite a few about but if its somewhere smaller then it may take off well. Tricky one... Good luck

Well I studied Graphic Design in Uni but after one job I knew it wasn't for me. I hated being told where to channel any creativity, so it wasn't for me.
It is vastly oversubscribed these days, BUT you can still be successful. On the other hand it could be a total waste of money.
If the person you're in discussions with is very passionate/hard working then anythings possible.
