Steve Borleys Own Words

I have full faith in the guy to eventually get us out of this mess, its not going to happen overnight i know but eventually in my opinion an investor (hopefully the Malaysians) will come on board and along with Borley we can go forward and finally get the club financially stable and employ the correct people to run it as it should be. :ayatollah:

He has been on the CCMB and here are his words.

just for the record I will be purchasing the HOS site above market rate subject to shareholders agreement at an EGM and then I will build the new Academy facilty for Cardiff City out of my own funds and then foot the running costs. This action allows the club to sell the remaining development land and the money then being used to stabilise the club. I am infact taking on a liability and an obligation.

Thats my concern Steve, not everyone reads message boards or know what goes on at the club fully, so when this news or any other good news is reported then these people may automatically think its Ridsdales doing and be happy with what he is doing.

Is this a case that SB is paying over the odds for the House of Sport land, funding it and no chance of getting any money back in reality, thus the development land can be sold (to Guy??) at below market rate for the purchaser (Guy?) to make a huge profit - if you get my drift..

Which is exactly why I posted the same query on CCMB and Mr Borley replied. He has secured the hotel land for the club by selflessly funding the House of Sport himself. Without the club producing a House of Sport the Hotel land would have reverted to the council.

However it can now be sold to the benefit of the club, but who is it being sold to? The council papers have been redacted so as to keep the deal confidential, the only intimation is that it is one of the football clubs "Commercial Partners".

I'm not knocking SB here but that's not quite what it say on the Council's report, its not far off and all credit to Mr Borley if ever manages to recoup some of his investment. I don't want to piss on anyones fire here but the Council, I think I said this the other day, are sailing very, very close to the wind on this one. I am slightly behind the times with the changes the "socialist" government have made to local authority legislation to get more of their worthless scum at the trough but the older rules still apply. A Council or Councilors are responsible for any decisions made and can be personally brought to book to account for such actions, hence they have "officers", used to be the professional staff who know things :? to advise them. If someone for example were to complain to the relevant body (I do know which one obviously but let the journosexuals work for once ;) ) that there is no intrinsic benefit to the community at large then the whole process could be delayed.

I would argue that the benefit is intrinsically benficial to the "country" as a whole, not just the areas around New Ninian but to Cardiff, the South East of Wales and by defintion, Wales. It has the potential to put not only Cardiff City but Cardiff on the Football map of the world and given Football's world wide popularity could make Wales a potential candidate for probably not the world cup, not enough stadia, but certainly hosting the European Championships (with the jocks), Euro Cup final etc. This week Newcastle away, next week Peterborough, then London, then europe, then the world, haa, haa haa... :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
