Earlier this year Stirling Albion FC held open trials for new players each having to pay £200 for the chance to compete to earn a pro contract and at the same time make the Club some much needed cash , out of this X Factor style trial they signed a goalie and a full back ......... geeat way for a cash strapped club to make some money and find new players .

There are a few Scottish sides who hold open trials during the summer, ( I think this is the first time I've seen a team charge for it?) and I think it's a great idea. I really can't understand why more clubs don't do the same thing.
If you think about it, you have a couple of days worth of trials, if you unearth one player then it's been worth it, if not, what have the teams lost?
