Anything is better than Labour theyve done A PR on us.

I will be Voting Tory, I know it annoys people but at least I am honest.

Also anyone who will put a halt to immigration I would also Vote for, at least I am Honest.

"Halting immigration is a complicated one because we need it it certain aspects of the economy. For instance Wales and England do not produced enough doctors (not anywhere near!) to satisfy the needs of the NHS etc. Same with nurses. So until we can start training enough doctors and nurses we will need to bring them in from elsewhere. In the 50's and 60's if it had not been for the Asian doctors we would not have had a health service in the valleys."

Fully agree with that AB, similarly the folk from the West Indies comming over in the 50's to work on London Transport, etc as there were huge labour shortages due to reconstruction after the war. I've had the privilage of meeting quite a few of the years and one, Herbie, a great bloke was even considering voting the BNP or it may have been NF was quite a while ago. He was intending to return to his homeland as both he and his wife had retired, the kids had all grown up and he wasn't in particularly good health. He heard that BNP (or NF) would pay repatriation costs for people such as himself to return "home"! He died not long afterwards so I never did find out if he was serious or more likely, taking the piss!!

"As we are in the EU so cannot stop people moving to the UK from these countries in masses... wrongly in my opionion although some people from other parts of Europe have an excellent work ethic compared to many UK nationals. I have a Greek guy working for me and he is brilliant."

Shirley thats a good thing though, works both ways. I'm working in Bulgaria althought thats slightly different as it is an EU funded project we're supervising.

"For non-EU immigration I think we need to stem the flow from Pakistan and places like that as there is absolutely no reason for them to still be arriving here unless they are needed for key positions. Immigration into the UK from Africa is absolutely tiny.. literally handful and most are asylum seekers which are a different kettle of fish. Working with many asylum seekers I totally understand and accept they need to leave their own countries I just think that collectively the EU member states should be sharing responsibilities and not letting the responsibility fall on the UK due to an inadequate government, control and policy."

Thats the major issue with most people I think. Its not the actual immigrant comming to work in the UK, we'd be up shite creek without them, but their extended families that seem to accompany some of them. Quite why the UK still allows certian nationalities into the country fairly easily whilst for others it is very difficult. Also on the "asylum seeker" issue one thing I can never understand is the hordes of such folk gathered around the channel tunnel entrance/exit who are trying to desperately to get into the UK, fucked as it is. Isn't France good enough them? Or any of the other countries they pass through, there must be something attractive about the UK for them to try so hard to here, quite what i don't know!

For illegal immigrants it's really been a failing of the government to not control and eject people who are illegal here. Shame on them.

But you reap what you sow. In Uganda during the 2nd World War, when Uganda was a coloney, we took the Acholi people and made them fight for Britian - they were excellent at jungle and desert warfare. 1000's died fighting for Britian and we have given them very little (in fact we have made their lives worse) in return. They are still proud of being involved in the 2nd world war and helping Britian but basically feel shafted.. which I totally understand.

Could also look at the Gurhka issue. How they've been treated by the present and past governments is disgusting, thousands of them have lost their lives fighting for the UK in the various wars over the years yet when they leave the services it a case of thank you very much now f**k off home! Anyone whose has seen serivce in the armed forces of the UK should have the unquestioned to right to live for the rest of the lives in the UK no matter where they originally came from. They were prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice the very least we as a country can do for them is give them a place to live.

Turned me off voting completely now or least vote for one of the joke parties, Monster Raving Looney or Socialst Worker party for example!!!

To the people who are going top vote BNP just to get rid of the "scrounging immigrants", surely that should mean people born and bred here scrounging off the state should be deported aswell.

By the way the BNP would get rid of all ethnic minorities eventually if they got in power, even people born here and who have lived and worked here all their life.

This is the party that said the likes of Rio Ferdinand,Emile Heskey, Ashley Cole etc shouldn't play for the english football team because they aren't english, despite them all being born there and lived there all their life.

I'm voting for the green party out of protest.

Labour SO FAR!!

I'm not convinced.
So far my vote is going to no-one.

Re: WHO ARE YOU VOTING FOR

Fri Feb 26, 2010 2:13 am

Even with not so good candidates. I will still vote.

Can't stand people who decide not to vote just because they can't be arsed. All of what our ancestors went through so we could vote.

Re: WHO ARE YOU VOTING FOR

Fri Feb 26, 2010 3:18 am

whoever reverses the smoking ban and introduces choice, smoking or no-smoking signs displayed outside. whoever has a decent policy on limiting immigration, ends our arse licking of america, brings home our troops and sllows all medical treatments available to those who need it and not base it on costs.
By the looks of it i might not be voting as i can't see any party having one of my requirements in their manifesto.

Re: WHO ARE YOU VOTING FOR

To be Honest, there are not many real names of MP's you can identify anymore with and any that stand out and are strong and believable, thats the main problem.

Re: WHO ARE YOU VOTING FOR

Fri Feb 26, 2010 8:35 am

Snouts in the trough, the lot of them. How many of the greedy b******s we're fiddling their expenses? Untrustworthy unfit to govern. I'll be one of the people who supposedly wastes their vote. If any of the parties could show me they actually care about their constituents then they would get my vote, until then they can go whistle.

The valleys are crap for voting. The only choice we get are normally,
:o
Labour
Plaid Cymru
and maybe an independent
We get no Tories, Lib Dem, Bnp or UKIP.

Shot choice really!!!!!!!!

Re: WHO ARE YOU VOTING FOR

Independent candidates are the way forward. I'll be voting Liberal Democrats because they do listen to the constituents and actually give a shit.

Someone made a good point earlier though saying no matter who you vote for the government gets in!

My brother refuses to vote. Some people have a go at him saying 'your forefathers died in battle so you could vote' but he says 'I'll vote when there are people worthy of having my vote'.

No matter who gets in, little changes. MPs are still overpaid and taxes will always rise. After that, not a lot else matters.

Sinn Féin.

Re: WHO ARE YOU VOTING FOR

Fri Feb 26, 2010 11:15 am

Irene James is a terrible AM.

Nearly got her out too. I think she had 36% of the vote and won.

Don Touhig is stepping down so it will be interesting to see how many votes labour lose. I assume they will win it.

the biggest joke is ukip

I'd vote for Peter if he fucked off from our club. He may be made Chancellor of the Exchequer and then Abolish the tax system. Cos we all know he doesn't like paying his taxes    It's a win win situation

I'll be voting Lib Dems, as I'm happy with the way things are working in Sheffield and I think Labour, the Torys and the BNP are all shit.

I'm sorry to say but the public are starting to see through Question Time Sludge. Having attended with Adam yesterday the programme makers took the questions of everyone and choose who would ask them. The vast majority of a chosen audience were either Labour or Plaid supporters who were still at University and never had a proper job in their life.

The reaction this morning after last nights programme is very similar to the morning after Nick Griffin was a panelist and that is the programme makers set Nigel up and we were there and seen it with our own eyes.

And for your information UKIP in Merthyr is growing from strength to strength

I think he was battered
