The resurgence of the Wigan Warriors and the demise of "The Latics" have seen a lot of supporters switch back from football to Rugby League. Believe it or not season tickets for the football are £250 and they still fail to get 20000 in the stadium.

I'm not knocking them as they have been good to me (re my Sports Photography) but it is fact that people in Wigan do not have the funds to support both.

As long as Sky are still pumping in their billions football will be ok, money-wise, or at least the Premiership clubs will. At the end of the current deal, clubs will probably start moving to showing live games on their own TV channels, which will be more favourtable towards the richer, better supported clubs. Then we will see a difference in the finances of clubs as the rich get richer and the not so well supported clubs will see a dramatic decline in revenue and that's when we will all have to panic
