One particular player that was offered to us was the right player but the loaning club only would let him out for a month.
Malky is looking at strikers and wingers.
Another issue we have is the amount of wages the parent clubs want us to pay for a loan player, there is a budget available to Malky, it is not millions but he is confident that if he sees the right player then he will be backed to bring him in.
Another area where Malky is applying pressure is the academy, he feels there should be more coming through the academy and pushing for the first team than we currently have, there is an excellent batch of players coming through behind at the younger age groups but not so much at youth team level.

Dave, I know for a fact there is money, not millions but enough to bring players in, if they are right for the squad.
Malky is targeting strikers and wingers.

why would we only want a player for 1 month, it would upset the current squad, teams that are only willing to loan players for 1 month obviously they just want them to have a bit of competitive game time... i.e. coming back from an injury or off form etc...
if dj was in charge i could imagine we would have had 2 or 3 players like that...
clearly mm is thinking that if the player isnt going to benefit the current squad over a min of 3 months then whats the point in wasting unnecessary money..
just wish people would understand this sometimes.....

Craig Bellamy is still in contact with our Malaysian owners and he has agreed to go to Malaysia at the end of this season and spend part of the summer promoting Cardiff City.

In view of your comments about how much Malky Mackay has to spend on new players, do you still believe that the club's footballing budget for this season is £20 million? I happen to think that we've spent a bigger portion of our budget than many believe we have because all of those "free transfers" we signed were anything but that. However, if our budget was £20 million, I'd expect us to still have the few million left that you say we haven't.

good morning paul
there has been a little confusion over this 20 million.
they will have put that amount of money in by the end of the season and that will be used for all aspects of running the club including paying off some of the historical debts from the stadium etc

I disagree. I cant see him getting much mileage promoting his Sierra-Leone academy
in Malaysia. It will mean f**k all to them, they wont care. I genuinely think Bellamy
has a vested interest in Cardiff City. He has perhaps two seasons left as a player and
is going to be back in Cardiff for the rest of his days. He wants to stay in Football
and wants to be involved with this Club. If the Malaysians see him as a high-profile
footballer then who better to help market Cardiff City over there. Of course they
will be paying, it will be Club business

I think its bang out of order mate when we are struggling to bring in players and yet pay for a Liverpool player/fan to promote us, how. How can a Liverpool player promote Cardiff City. I understand his vested interest in us as we are giving his boys from his academy a chance. I understand his welfare is for his academy and rightly so but I do honestly believe he is using us for his own means, again.

I know what you mean, but I also doubt that TG would let him go over there on a self-serving
mission anyway. There will be an itinerary, meetings, media conferences... I just cant see them
letting Bellamy move away from the script.
