agree, and defensively they can be a knightmare under pressure. skrtel is shocking on the back foot and enrique doesnt like facing towards his own goal either...

To be fair, I think Henderson is perhaps a bit overpriced at £20m (just one example of players valued at a steep price because they're English) but given time I think he'll do well for them seeing as he's young. Downing is a good player but predictable. Probably the best example (apart from Andy Carroll) of a player being high-priced simply because of their nationality. Despite that, I reckon he'll be solid for them. Carroll is the best example as I've just mentioned. But to be fair he was bought right at the end of January, and the price players are bought at in January often never reflects their true value at the best of times.

As much as I wish Carroll and Henderson could be excluded they can't be due to their price tags. I'll give you guys a run down as to what I think of each purchase.

Stuart Downing - 20mil - Total shit. Nuff said really? Lets do this Pokemon style eh?
Downing runs down the line! Encounters a wild defender! Downing stops! Downing turns around! Downing passes to Enrique! 15mins later and Downing uses skill Invisibility!

Andy Carroll - 35mil (not paid in full but still assloads mind) - I feel bad for Andy. Has the world on his shoulders don't he? Forced to leave his boyhood club by a money hungry c**t. Steps up to the challenge and starts off great! Bags 2 goals against City, whole Liverpool faithful are behind him. Has a decent summer preseason and then wouldn't you know it? Kenny benches him damn near the entire season so far. Halting his flowing form, his progress as a player, and completely destroyed the potential magical partnership with Luis Suarez who's been so clearly crying out for a partner up top. Luis Suarez is no Fernando Torres, he cannot hold off defenders, he has trouble bringing down crosses under pressure, and he can't finish like Nando could. Suarez plays best as a wingman that goes inside like he did with Ajax and like he does with Uruguay. Both Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez need to start every game together unless injury or suspension says otherwise.

Jordan Henderson - 16mil rising to 20mil - Well worth it. How he was originally classed as a right winger is far beyond me. He plays with a thousand times more confidence and skill as a central attacking midfielder and every performance in that position has been top notch. Everytime he plays wide right it's woeful. Keep him central.

Charlie Adam - 7mil - I hate him. Overrated. 1 good season at Blackpool doesn't warrant a move to one of the top clubs in England. His free kicks, penalty kicks, corners, touches, passes, and general thinking are f*cking awful. Why he's at Liverpool and why Kenny insist on playing him high up the field and Gerrard deep is beyond me. Another one of Kenny's many tactical errors.

Jose Enrique - 7mil - I originally criticised the signing, turns out to be the best of the bunch. f*cking love him and his passion.

Sebastian Coates - 8mil - Needs to play more. Kid is absolutely top class. Against Stoke the other week he took the ball from outside Liverpool's box, dribbled it all the way down to Stokes box, dribbled past 3 Stoke defenders (Shawcross, Woodgate, and Huth) and his shot was saved. He's a fuckin beast.


If Kenny doesn't pull his head out of his ass soon the potential of Carroll could be decimated even further, Gerrard's potential impact will be minimal, and Charlie Adam will ruin Liverpool.

I think all of that is spot on, apart from the Charlie Adam stuff, but then again I don't watch Liverpool (well not in an in-depth manner anyway) every week.
