i know this might be a stupid question but would
the fans and trust have any legal right to fight
for the return of the 500 000 bonus ridsdale had for the cmpletion of
the ground as it was not finished and not been paid for
i know the board ok if but there must be away

Depends on what basis he was paid the bonus due to the terms of the contract between him and the club.

It might have been paid on the basis of the main structure being completed by Laing O'Rourke i.e without the fixtures and fittings. If it was then he probably was entitled to the bonus contractually if not morally.

On the hand if the bonus was paid on the basis of a fully completed stadium i.e. with fixtures and fittings installed and undersoil heating working and all paid for then obviously he wasn't entitled.

That said it might be person or persons who sanctioned the payment who would be sued rather than Ridsdale himself. In any case it would be very messey and I doubt anyone has the stomach or the money for the fight even if there were proper grounds.
