LATEST ON CARLING CUP FINAL TICKETS

Sun Feb 12, 2012 2:27 pm

As everyone is probably aware by now the club faced a major problem this morning when the e-ticketing website would not allow anyone to purchase a second Cup Final ticket on their renewal season ticket option. This is 100% NOT the clubs fault but that of Ticketmaster.

There will be a statement released today by Ticketmaster accepting liability for the problem and exonerating the club of any blame, club officials went and run through the system yesterday with Ticketmaster and everything was working perfectly but the club and the supporters have been let down badly by Ticketmaster, this is a company that has sold over 1 million tickets for the Olympics but have failed to deal with our Wembley allocation.

Unfortunately the ticket office staff and manageress have been put under a lot of pressure from disgruntled fans and in fairness there was absolutely nothing they could have done about the problem.

When the club serviced supporters for the Play Off Final 2010 it had no more than 400 supporters in a queue at the ticket office at any one time as the vast majority used the e-ticketing option but because of issues online and the telephone lines (which was another cock-up on Ticketmasters behalf as they underestimated the volume of calls and did not put on enough staff to service the calls) it meant fans headed for the stadium where the ticket office staff were unprepared for such a high volume of people.

The club did not open food and drinks outlets, nor did they turn the TV's on as there would never have been the amount of people at the stadium if it were not for the Ticketmaster problems.

The ticket office have managed to service around 6,500 tickets today and at the time of writing there are just 200 or so fans left in the queue so the club seemd to cut the queue at about the right time as they close at 4.00pm.

I think it is important that everyone knows what has happened today and that the club and in particular the ticket office staff are blameless in this sorry episode.

Ticketmaster have got 2 website technicians working on the system as I write and I have been told the club hope to notify fans very soon about the problem being fixed and back to where it should have been this morning.

For those travelling with the Forum bus and have purchased tickets through myself can rest assured your tickets are sorted, so enjoy your Sunday lunch and there is no need to ring me.

Thanks carl, ticketmaster dont accept our fist option of 1 ticket let alone the second one because it says "dont have the privilages". Had over 20 calls personally and more than that on our forum, cannot see this being a ticketmaster problem but the club, alhough I do recognise other issues are that of ticketmaster.
We'll seewhat happns, and hope all's well that ends well as they say in the trade. :ayatollah:

Re: LATEST ON CARLING CUP FINAL TICKETS

We got our tickets on E.Ticketing after 30 minutes, by 11am it was all done and dusted.

IMO the club should never have done what they did by saying Season Ticket Holders could get 2 Tickets if they renew now. That was pure greed to get extra money and we all know that not everyone will give their tickets to people who go regular.

18000 Season Ticket Holders 1 Each.

Premier Club Holders 2 Each.

By the time you take all that out and with Players and Staff you would have been left with around 8-9000 tickets which should
have gone on sale to Away Members and anyone with a Stadium Card and then General Sale.

They have made a rod for their own back IMO.

Carl I think you are being naive. CCFC would be liable for damages is they were liable due to their actions, Ticketmaster arent with protection from disclaimers. Of course they'll accept responsiblity... but but liability, neither party will accept liability. My category 2 tickets which when I was online this morning will not now be available. Liability would mean compensation, responsiblity means f**k all

Please read my post again THIS IS A TICKETMASTER PROBLEM AND NOT THE CLUB. I understand what you are saying but when Ticketmaster tried resolving the renewal problem they then managed to wipe out everyone's privileges.

Expect a statement from Ticketmaster confirming that it is indeed their fault.

Cheers Carl,
I booked my basic allocation today on the phone.

I couldn't buy the extra tickets (early renewal) because of the cock up.

Ticketmaster are going to phone me when they have sorted the problem so that I can book the extra.

Anyone got any idea when these calls will start to take place or has anyone been called back yet?

I am not naive, I have taken time out today to speak with the club when I had reason apart from putting everyone in the picture and a club official tells me that Tidketmaster have accepted liability.

:!: :!: :!:
Now I have A big problem, I Wanted to book the other ticket for my grandson who is eleven years of age, because the site told me I could not book more than one ticket in one sitting, I logged out and then back in again, when. Finally got back in all the tickets near me had gone, which means that he will be nowhere near me if I bought him a ticket, I am not willing to let him sit on his own with strangers. I would have loved the people responsible to have sat in the room when I had to tell him he may not go, he swapped his MU shirt for a city shirt in order to go, his mother heard him crying upstairs in his bedroom and his new shirt in the bin I don,t care how much they apollogise, it can,t be put right, I will have no hesitation in selling my ticket when the rush dies down, I won,t be going Tuesday on a matter of principle, and I am even thinking of asking for a refund on next years season ticket, stuff Ticket master, and stuff the cup final.

You winding me up?

Has he ever been to watch Cardiff before?

He swapped his Utd shirt for a City shirt the other day?

Why dont you pass your ticket on to some who IS ACTUALY a Cardiff fan then.

He would probably toss his Cardiff top away and put is UTD shirt back on once the final was over anyway.

Jumping on the bandwagon at its finest!

Re: LATEST ON CARLING CUP FINAL TICKETS

Carl the problem people have experienced on e ticketing this morning has been there for weeks and I have had first hand experience of it on two counts.

Firstly when I tried to renew my season tickets it would not allow me to assign my grandson, even though he has been assigned to my account for two years, so I had no alternative other than to call the ticket office to renew our ST. I was on the phone for just under an hour waiting to get through before being cut off. The call has cost me £5.75 resulting in nothing. I later filled in the postal application and decided to go with the interest free option, the club could have had payment in full if this system had been working, but it wasn't and fully 12 days ago it wasn't working.

I then tried buying tickets for the game yesterday but had the same problem I could not assign my grandsons, I wasn't going to get caught out by the big telephone call rip off the club are running so I took the chance of buying the tickets one at a time and it worked, thankfully the tickets were together.

I know and fully respect you are only passing in information given to you by the club but in my opinion whoever gave you the information is a weazel looking only for a bit of arse padding.

If Sergie the meerkat had set this up on his new laptopmeibob he would of made a better job of it. Trust me someone at the club needs to take a good long look into a mirror and stop trying to deflect the blame onto others.

Simples. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Whoevers fault this was massively predictable. Anything to do with the ticket office or system linked to ticket sales has IMO mostly been poor and amateur.

I knew there would be cock-up so I queued for 5 hours down stadium, maybe those who have had problems on e-ticketing/ticketmaster and are claiming it was predictable should have queued with me. 2 seats together :)

All city fans have to start somewhere.
Before I was a Cardiff fan, I was a man utd "fan".
My first Cardiff game was the testimonial game against man utd.
Yet, after that, I was hooked on Cardiff. I still kind of follow utd, but Cardiff are by far my team.
Plus, hes only 11 ffs.

Horrible story this morning. I booked through the supporters club so turned up at 10 today when they opened went straight in and paid within 5 mins. There were only 2 others waiting outside and one of them said he had been waiting since 7am in the cold for it to open. He had already paid last week he just wanted the tickets in his hand. Once the doors opened he was told they wernt available for collection til tomorrow! Horrible
