Why 9 points and not 10?

Why have Pompey been docked 9 points for administration and not 10 like all the other clubs have? Seems strange

Isn't it cos the Premiership has less teams and matches.

Don't think so. I would have thought admin is admin and rules on it are the same whatever division you're in. It does seem odd to me

Thats correct. The premier league decide how many points intheir league and the football league decide how many points deducted for the other divisions.
They might still get a big points deduction from the FL when they come down and they are still in admin.

Basically what was said above. The Premier League decides and because there are less teams and matches hence less points available to play for, 9 points is deemed a more suitable punishment than 10 points.
