A forum for all things Cardiff City

It has been a while since I have done an update and in the not too distant future I will explain the full reason as to why this has been the case, when I do everybody should understand my position and why I have kept things out of the public domain until I feel it is the right time to make certain situations public knowledge.
I'll start this update by telling you that Vincent Tan will be at the game against Blackpool. but TG is unlikely to be attending.
Vincent Tan took a surprising decision to replace Doug Lee, Finance director, recently with Simon Lim, I say it was surprising because nobody in the club knew that the decision was being made until it was indeed done.
Tonight I can state that this will not be the only change of club staff personnel and that in the coming weeks Vincent Tan is making changes to positions that are high up in the club, out of respect for the people that are currently in those positions I will not name them here tonight but I am absolutely certain that other people outside of the football club are aware of these changes and I would hazard a guess that the names of those involved will become public knowledge over the course of the next few days but I will not being them on the message board.
Another topic that has been at the forefront of City fans minds especially since the whole re-branding scenario is that of Langston and ultimately a full and final settlement.
Sam Hammam has been in London this week having talks to try and bring a resolution to the long standing loan notes but there is unlikely to be a deal concluded any time soon as there is a stalemate at present over how much one wants and how much the other wants to pay. On a positive note at least the two sides are still talking, albeit through a third party and when it is public knowledge of who the third party is then I believe there will be a few shocked faces but at least there is a common ground still to try and reach an agreement and they have not yet told one another 'where to go'.
Fans have been having their say on live demand pricing currently in operation at CCS, and in particular the prices coming up to matchday or indeed on the actual day of the game, fans have been disgruntled at paying up to £32 for a ticket, I think it is only fair to point out that the club has stressed the message is ' buy early, buy cheap'.
When tickets for a home game go on sale a whole month before a scheduled game then the ticket price is at its very lowest, like for Watford on Tuesday 23rd October, the current cheapest adult price is £17 and if every ticket was sold tomorrow to City fans ordering those tickets they would all pay £17.
The closer we get to the game then certain factors are taken into account, ie. the popularity of the game, the opponents, even the expected weather conditions, so where you can you need to pick your games in advance and buy the tickets as soon as you can to get them at the lowest price possible.
Another way of saving money on tickets is by group booking, ie. 10 or more tickets, the following text is taken from the official site :
Cardiff City has a new Group Ticketing Strategy which will be in place for the upcoming 2012-13 season.
Group ticketing enables all kinds of groups, whether they be community, commercial or charity, the ability of receiving benefits by booking in groups of ten or more. By attending in a group of ten or more, you will enjoy great savings on match ticket prices.
Group sales are for children and adults. Tickets are priced for groups of ten or more dynamically for adults at £20 Gold, £18 Silver and £15 for bronze games. To encourage youth participation, all children tickets will be priced at £7.50 per child.
To register your interest in group tickets today call Kelly on 029 2064 3627
You may be aware that there are a lot more commercial and single day events taking place at CCS than ever, all the money that is paid by such companies to hold their events at the stadium is paid directly to Compass and not the football club but we do receive a royalty payment from Compass, such was the deal that Peter Ridsdale negotiated with the catering company, he took an upfront fee for the football club and Compass got the rights to stage and promote these events.
Vincent Tan has made offers to buy out Compass from their current deal and keep everything 'in house' but Compass have so far turned down the offers and wish to keep the current contract they have with the football club.

cheers carl for the update, glad to hear that although slim, langston talks are cont... i will wait to see or hear who the club are changing higher up before guessing.
as for the tickets deal, i totally understand buy early get cheap, but that for some people who dont have season tkts is difficult. the club are asking customers to get a cheap tkt now for watford, yet many wont get paid until tomorrow and have to buy a blackpool and brum tkt first. its making fans priortise which games they can afford to see and we need max attendance at all games.
for the record im a season tkt holder, but i honestly feel for some fans who may not be able to purchase early and our being forced to pay an inflated price nearer to the fixture.

Ridsdale the middle man?
Thu Sep 27, 2012 7:48 pm
carl i was lead to believe the ticket pricing went up as tickets became scarce, so in effect if 2k were sold on the morning of release by the afternoon they would have gone up?
also how long is the contract that compass curently hold?
i also guess that its ridsdale whos the middle man wouldnt suprise me the snake gets under all the rocks

So TG not there.Don't tell me we will be looking for a new chairman soon?
Hardly a surprise that SH and VT are still in negotiations, that will go to the wire as did our '10mins to admin' saga. That is the way SH plays things, and we also know that VT plays hard ball.

How have they start by replacing someone else they brought in for someone else?

The ticketing is an issue for me. I live a distance away and as a result I am not a season ticket holder and I cannot be sure I can get to CCS until the day before a game. So through no fault of my own I am being penalised.

It's been way more expensive on a match day for over a decade.

Is the middle man Ron Nodes??
Thu Sep 27, 2012 8:39 pm
The fans know the score with the tickets yet still f**king moan. It's pointess complaining when the games for the future are already out now even in a months time.

when is compass contract finished? no wonder vt wants them out if they get most money not the club!!!

Allan, it was originally 10 years, then the Riddler borrowed more money of them before he left, so we gave them a 1 year extension, I think they have approx 8 years left, not good.

I'm not moaning and it will make no difference to me if its dearer on the day as I'll still come, just pointing out a fact that sometimes it is not easy to plan ahead.

thanks anis
what the ???? how stupid was that man???? but then again he did same with all our assets! should organise boycotte maybe that willl convince them to settle!
Thu Sep 27, 2012 10:11 pm
Id rather plan it and get it out of the way.
Thu Sep 27, 2012 10:25 pm
You wouldn't happen to be talking about a " conflict of interest" by any chance Carl,on your lack of updates ? Don't you write for the local rag .
Thu Sep 27, 2012 10:50 pm
Just for info, I was told yesterday that group tickets could only be bought for seats in the corners either side of canton stand. This is also the only location that you can use tesco clubcard vouchers. So they are good prices but limited to these two small areas of the ground.
Thu Sep 27, 2012 11:25 pm
Risdale was uses has a middle man back last year, so he wouldn't be a shock. I think its more likely to be Annis.
Why is it unlikely TG is coming to the game? Has Tan and him fallen out?

the riddler was not stupid and is still getting his cut of the deal. It was one of his mates who supplied all the kitchen equipment and they got paid in full whilst local businesses did not get paid at all until the malaysians came in and paid them off.
Fri Sep 28, 2012 12:25 am
Their in either sides of the Canton as there are not many places you can get in a group and it be easier to offer them areas as there are many spaces
Fri Sep 28, 2012 1:29 am
Its not the only stinker the riddler pulled off while here theres other also, he would do anything to cover costs on a monthly basis untill he was gone, then let the shit be soaked up by whoever, theres more to come

Plenty of space in most parts of the ground, we only ever fill it 70% if you don't count no shows. Don't think scheme will be that popular. Sitting a large group of children next to the canton stand put me off purchasing.
