when i click view more smilies where do i go from there?

Just click on them :D

and you should see a ':D' appearing for the 1 I did above

Sorry just read properly what you posted, it appears as a pop-up so you've probably got a pop-up blocker installer, you should be able to disable it for this site

I get the pop up and then what do i do?

I click on them nothing happens, i copy and paste nothing happens?

just click on the smiley in the pop up and it'll go into your post automatically ;)
