Boring to support Ipswich

Postby Pencoed » Fri Mar 17, 2017 10:01 pm

Ipswich fan telling me today they're playing there 15 consecutive season at this level. In the last ten years they've made the playoffs once apart from that never really got close or been in a relegation battle. Made the league cup semi final in 2011 bar that struggled to get past the 2nd round or 3rd round of the F.A cup. Its normal for their season to be over by mid March.

Must be a tough supporting a club like this.

Yeah they miles away from everywhere except Norwich so long away trips for their fans. There is a random crazy guy who hangs around outside their ground at every match ,happily telling visiting fans of his clubs history ,character and a half.

a lot of them are unhappy with Mick McCarthy which is absurd, if it wasn't for him they'd be relegated by now, the owner has continuously sold off their best performers, and not given any money to mick to strengthen. and he is still doing a job. cant fault the man

Is all relative...go back a few more years and they've won the FA Cup, the UEFA Cup and been league runners up.

For a medium sized club they've had successful periods and not as if they've slipped into divisions 3 or 4 recently either...

They've had some great players over the years like Paul Mariner, John Work, Terry Blooter, Arnold Muhren and Mick Mills. So many in fact their fans have to use all 12 fingers to count them.

Not sure about Terry Blooter, but Terry Butcher wasn't bad. Lol
