Stevenage v Pompey today

1,400 Pompey fans away.

They are averaging over 1,500 away fans this season in the lowest division.

They lost 3 nil today, but their fans sang for 90 mins and were still singing at the end, just heard the videos on twitter.

"We're not going home," sing this hardy bunch as Cook comes out of the dressing room to applaud them #pompey

COLCHESTER V POMPEY

2,500 Pompey away fans at Colchester.

Just checked 300 mile round trip, brilliant away support for the lowest division.

I rem I put out that 1,100 Pompey fans went all the way to Carlisle 12hr round trip and some one said,it was because they were both doing well

Pompey have always kept their loyal amazing support even in the 70's,80s and 90's :ayatollah:

CARDIFF and POMPEY USE TO BE SO SIMILAR :ayatollah:

From Facebook

John Coleman
Superb. One of my favourite rival clubs, Pompey. Well respected by those of us who were there in the '82-'83 season etc.

Annis Abrahamii John, Spot on, very much similar to us, but they've stayed like we we were, we've become a modern club.

John Coleman True, Annis, sadly.

Annis Abrahamii Very sad John.

I was at the match last week v Brum with Owen and I sat in the Ninian Stand thinking "no, the love has gone, Vinny Tan and the Red Brigade killed it."

Good support annis but its never a 300 mile round trip, its just over 100 miles each way, less than a 2 hour drive, bit like us going to Reading, they are in an automatic promotion spot aswell, tbh I would have been shocked had they not sold the 1400

Pompey to Colchester
Sorry, I got it wrong by 6 miles.
car 147 miles each way = 294 round trip.

We are talking about Division 4 football and their 3rd year in a row there, after two relegations , not top Championship football.

Pompey took 2,500 away to Colchester and they double our away support on average.
We took to Reading 2,348 fans, but we turn up three times a season away and thats our best this season.

Bit of confusion here sorry, I thought you was saying it was a 300 miles round trip from Pompey to Stevenage.

I am not knocking their support but nevertheless I'm just saying its a close trip and they are in an automatic promotion spot and played a team that are also going for 3rd place, I'm not that surprised they took 1400, I don't think its that impressive.

If they could of had 3,000 tickets today, they would of sold everyone of them and yes its not far.

But Pompey fans travel no matter how far.

They've been taking this away support 3 years running in this division, honestly they should be respected for their loyal, large away support no matter what, I love looking out for them every week :thumbright: :thumbright:

We are talking about Div 4.

We barely took 1,500 to Burnley to win the Championship for the first time in our history, we could pay on the day and had an allocation of 2,500, I was there.

Yet years ago we would of taken 5,000 for such a big game.

Why do people knock this type off thing? As it's been stated they are in 4th tier of English football irrelevant of league position costs still close to what we pay in championship yet they still turn up in numbers! These fans should be applauded at every opportunity not having excuses made about how they managed to get 1500 average figures.
Well done Pompey one of the best fans in Britain and a superb atmosphere at their ground ...f**k MK that's who should be knocked

Spot on, sadly jealousy and no honesty from some.
