Scott Malone is in the Sky bet Championship team of the year.

EFL teams of the season announced for the Sky Bet Championship, League One and League Two

Sky Sports

20/03/17

The EFL have announced their team and manager of the season awards for each division of the Sky Bet EFL.

The teams were compiled as part of the EFL Awards of 2017, and are based on votes submitted by a regional media representative of each of the 72 clubs who nominated their top 11 players and a manager.

The team and manager must be made up entirely of players and a manager from the same division as the club that nominated the media representative.

The overall EFL team of the season will be judged by a panel on Monday, March 20, and revealed at the EFL Awards on Sunday, April 9.

Championship team of the year

The title race could go down to the wire in the Championship between Newcastle and Brighton, but the Seagulls have the edge in the team of the season award with four players getting the nod.

Rafa Benitez's side have had a strong spine throughout the season and it's two of their key men, Jonjo Shelvey and Dwight Gayle, that have made the cut.

Gayle is behind Chris Wood in the race to be the league's top scorer, though; the Leeds striker, who has notched 24 goals this season, is joined by defensive team-mate Pontus Jansson, while the boss of a play-off rival - Huddersfield's David Wagner - is handed the reins.

There we go, then!

So long as he's not in City's 'Team of the Year' ;)

After a tough start (mainly engineered by injury and lies) I think I'd rather have the ex-Jack in my team going forward into next season and beyond :ayatollah:

Stunned by this selection. Leeds' Charlie Taylor is the best left back in the league by a country mile imo.

Yes, we finished sixth on goal difference. Beat Sheffield Wednesday in the semi-final, and Leeds at Wembley in the final. Premier League, here we come!

I'd have Jazz all day long over Malone. Probably the best bit of business Trollope did!

With this news Borussia Dortmund will probably be back in for Scott now!!!
I thought he looked good going forward sometimes and his crossing was ok.
He has scored a few goals (4) at Fulham.
He seemed average as a defender, though I never liked his daft haircut.
I'm happy enough with the options we have got now.

Hes done well to be fair. Fulham have played possibly the best football of the season at CCFC ,and Malone plays a big part in a strong team. Hes no Lee Naylor though

Malone got flack because of the love in pour supporters had Fabio and couldn't accept Malone was more composed and could do both sides of the game better, no disrespect to Fabio.

Malone has a very good season and he was under appreciated here, was an easy scapegoat as well.. scored an own goal v Derby in a 2-0 defeat and he just got flack every game after that.
I will.
And before anyone els gets in there no im not an ideot abroad

Defensively he was awful for us I felt. Although probably not helped by slades flat 4-4-2.Millwall fans were glad to see the back of him at the time aswell.Seems to be flying in Fulhams system though.Good luck to him
