Well luckily the Scottish people get to vote and decide.

You could say the same for the Brexit vote; there is no plan nor any real idea of what a deal could look like.

Correct me if I'm wrong but they have already voted and decided in a once in a generation referendum. And they rejected independence.
And for Brexit. What plan ? we voted to leave and leave we shall do.

Once in a generation but they didn't give answer snp wanted? Your right the plan is to leave EU as oted for by the majority of UK citizens.

Yep, this was a 'whole of the UK' vote and they (the SNP and other defeated parties) would not have been so vocal had they not LOST ;)

Indeed, they (the now defeated) would have been even more vocal in their condemnation of others who cannot accept the "will of the national majority" than ever the other way around

Nicola Sturgeon-Salmond:

"Let's have a vote on Scottish Independence!"

"Oops! That didn't go to plan!"

"Let's have another vote on Scottish Independence next week!"

"Oops! That didn't go to plan!"

"Let's have another vote on Scottish Independence next week!"

"Oops! That didn't go to plan!"

I can see a pattern forming here! LOL

Like Groundhog Day all over again and people will soon start to tire, which is maybe her cunning plan?! ;)

Grind the buggers down, Nicola; for they know not what they want...until they agree with YOU and your puppet master, of course! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

If Scotland are in such a huge amount of Debt, why is the UK government holding a Independence referendum back? If their GDP doesn't meet the standards of The EU, why does the SNP want a Independence referendum so soon after meeting with the EU (4 weeks ago)?

All I'm seeing is a slagging match from a bunch of grown men. Take a look at yourself for God sake. Some of you are 40/50 years old, and slagging off a leader of a country you're not even from for being a "bitch and idiot".

Been reading through this thread and there are some very important points missing although i agree with a lot of what jock says in this thread, SNP are desperate for another referendum before we leave the EU because that is their only chance of staying in the EU by using the weak excuse that they have not officially left, they know if it's after we leave the EU their chances are dead in the water. They would and could'nt meet the criteria to join the EU (GDP has to be no more than 3%, scotlands is running at 9%, they would have to join the single currency, the euro would be a disaster for scotland) three years ago SNP put all their financial eggs in one basket - oil, it was then running at $200 a barrel and their projection was it would stay at that level for years to come, well it's now at $38 a barrel they have no financial foundations to work from and the EU know this. Remember over a million of us up here voted for brexit and the next referendum (if it ever happens) would be totally different, the question asked would be "We (snp) would like to remove ourselves from being powered by westminster and instead be powered from Brussels by the unelected heads of the EU using the euro as our currency" totally different question which would be thrown out by the majority of the voters up here.

While calling her a bitch is not something I would condone, I have seen her policies described as idiotic by people in the press and on television debates. While I might not agree with the people name calling to the extent of describing her as a bitch, I respect the fact that this is a country which gives the right of free speech, and if posters wish to describe her as an idiot, that is their perogative. Personally, I have'nt mentioned her at all until today, and have read this thread with interest, respecting that many on here have differing views. As far as slagging off a leader of a country that we are not even from, I have heard plenty slagging off Trump as well. Just because we are not from a particular country does not mean we do not have strong views on that country ot it's leader. I am sure that neither Trump nor Sturgeon are going to lose any sleep because of a small group of people dishing out a few insults on a football forum that they probably don't even know exists.

Bit rich coming from you you weird little man, the amount of times you've reported me for name calling is beyond. Cluedos Alien strikes again. I will take this post as permission to abuse you whenever I like from now on.

I agree with AfanBluebird, why so much hate towards her? She clearly stated in her last manifesto they would go for another vote and then proceeded to get a huge share of the vote. They also said last time that it was a once in a generation event unless there was a huge change in circumstances - leaving the EU is that change in circumstance. Now I happen to think Scotland would be a lot worse off if they went it alone but they have absolute right to do so and have another vote on it in my eyes.

Political Parties and Political Leaders often get slagged off in the media for not doing what is in their Manifesto. The Voters in Scotland gave the SNP the majority in their country, whether you agree with it or not. Whether or not you argee, Scotland voted remain in the EU referendum, should they be taken out of the EU against their will?

Here's the part of the 2016 manifesto of the SNP. Quite clearly says they will be pursuing another referendum within the next parliament... not really a shock is it? Scottish Greens have also said the same.

I ask again, if Scotland is in such a state financially, why are the UK so desperate to hold on to them? The UK is coming other of the EU, so won't need to bail them out.

The Greens, who hold the balance in calling for another referendumb, did not say they would support it in their manifesto, quite the reverse in fact. The majority of Scottish Voters have indicated they do not want another referendum at the moment. Saying Scotland voted remain is irrelevant, Wales voted Brexit, if the overall vote in the UK was to reman do you think that would be grounds to call for an independent Wales. The SNP have damaged Scotland irreparably and I loathe them, they have promised the hard of thinking a socialist utopia, bizarre for a group who were always known as Tartan Tories.

Some very good points and reading Jock, Afanbluebird the Scottish Greens clearly stated that they would only support another referendum IF there were a million names on a petition ( which there's not ) but hey ho lets do a Clegg and get our 15mins of fame.
Hopefully common-sense will prevail and NS and her cult followers will be redundant very soon.

Struggling to see how so many people can get so worked up about Scotland, (excluding Jock, of course, who comes across as quite calm, compared to many on here). Personally, I'm looking forward to a new country called England and Wales. The English are the best friends we, (Welsh), will ever have.

well in 2014 35% of the country voted for independence.
last year 40% voted remain.
more than half is 1 person more than 50% so where is the evidence.?

Dodgy ground here.they had a majority when those that could be arsed to vote did so,same as the Brexit vote. The same as any General Election or Local for that matter.Clinton actually beat Trump in the popular vote but Trump got the votes in numbers where it mattered. They did not have a majority in the referendum to break up the UK, most Scots don't want another referendum and in Brexit 35% of SNP voters wanted out the EU. He's on solid ground .

IF IT IS CLEAR MORE THAN HALF THE COUNTRY WANT INDEPENDENCE.
well in 2014 35% of the country voted for independence.
last year 40% voted remain.
more than half is 1 person more than 50% so where is the evidence.?
i think the 50year old playgroundheads have put a tad more thought into this than legolady

Dodgy ground here.they had a majority when those that could be arsed to vote did so,same as the Brexit vote. The same as any General Election or Local for that matter.Clinton actually beat Trump in the popular vote but Trump got the votes in numbers where it mattered. Doesn't work your way, never has.

They did not have a majority in the referendum to break up the UK, most Scots don't want another referendum and in Brexit 35% of SNP voters wanted out the EU. He's on solid ground .

Jock,I didn't say they did but Scotland has voted in favour of the UK staying in the EU by 62% to 38%(doing yourself out of 3%) - with all 32 council areas backing Remain.Did you forget the 62% The point is even that 62% probably doesn't account for 50% of the voting population.
