STEWART DOWNING IN BLUES TALKS

16/07/17

Birmingham City are in talks with Stewart Downing over a move to the Midlands, Sky sources understand.

Harry Redknapp is keen to bring him to St Andrew's after he was told by Garry Monk he was free to find another club.

The former England international has two years left on his four-year Middlesbrough deal, but would cost nothing.

Where are Birmingham getting all the money from?

Gambling with FFP?

They certainly don't get huge crowds and I can't recall them selling players for large sums of money over the past few years.

Redknapp always seems to want to spend millions of pounds at every club he manages. Not sure how well he can manage on a tight budget.

He seems more like a manager who'd bankrupt your club than take it forward.
