Not these days Tan !

Vincent states in his Q & A that buying a 10 mil striker he must score 10 or 20 goals – last time we had one not even play 90 minutes and paid the highest salary in the club’s history. £45,0000 a week – I still can’t believe it even today.”

Maybe Vincent has still not grasped it. Clubs would pay 50 million for a striker who could score 20 prem goals. If he spent 15 mil and had a return of 12-15 goals then that would be a very good buy, 10 mil? Might not get much for that these days unless Warnock pulls a rabbit out of a hat like he has with Zahore, who could get 12-15 Orem goals.

Or maybe he was just talking about that particular time in history, and I'd agree with him, think Swansea paid roughly the same for Bony that year and how many did he get?

I don't think he is, I think he expects that now as well. Bony was always going to score goals we all new he was a finisher and it was an astute bit of business by Swansea. You will come across good buys, look at Huddersfields buy cost 12 mil from Montpellier, he's guy 12-15 in him, they are out there but Tan needs to realise 10-12 is pittance for a striker.

The point is Tan was talking about £10m back in 2013. That would have bought you a Defoe or Bony back then, therefore he has a point !!

Vincent Tan is correct here in his point. We'd just been promoted to the premiership, that season was about staying in the premiership even if only by one point. We were not in a position to fork out ten million on a "project".

Yep, that's exactly the point. Not only did he not score, Malky didn't even play him !!

It doesn't really matter whether Cornelius blossoms into the world's best striker, which he won't   , at the time we had to have a proven striker who could hit the ground running and he was never going to be that !!
