He was something of a fans' favourite at the Valley, but forward Tony Watt has left the club.
The striker has been linked with a move away from south London for much of the summer, but did play in the 1-0 Carabao Cup win over Exeter City in midweek.
But after Charlton Athletic's unbeaten start to the new campaign came to an end with a 2-0 defeat away at Plymouth Argyle, Charlton boss Karl Robinson admitted that the big frontman would be leaving, with Belgian side OH Leuven his expected destination.

It would be interesting to see what Warnock could do with him.
Watts is a big strong aggressive running forward the sort of attacker Warnock would relish on.

Warnock could offer him a 6 month - 1 year contract, a bit like what he did with Chamakh and Hoilett. so if he turns out great, we can offer him a new contract, if not then we don't really lose anything.

This would be another shrewd addition, don't think he enjoyed Charlton and he seemed to like it here.

He did ok for us, i was hoping we would keep him, but the transfer embargo put paid to that but that said he hasn't done much since, but worth taking him back on a free or on trial

Its very clear we are at least 1 striker short, even now with everyone fit id feel happier having 2 strikers on the bench. As NW mentioned a 6 month contract for someone would be ideal. Watt would be a risk but worth the gamble I think.
Last time we looked at him a fee of 1m was being talked about and no doubt a longer contract so no wonder the club wouldn't risk the signing. Shorter deal they might
