A sad but proud day

Postby cardiffblue74 » Sun Sep 10, 2017 8:23 pm

While many on here may think I am being over dramatic I am hoping that fathers/mothers on here will understand...

Today my 14 year old daughter said to me...

Dad do you mind if I start going to watch the City with my friends and without you.

I take pride from the fact she wants to fly solo and that I've brought her up to be a true bluebird but a sad day none the less. :bluescarf:

It's a coming of age moment that can go either way.

My daughter came to me with a similar statement except she said "dad do you mind if I don't go to the football anymore.

We had just got into the Prem at the time. I suppose I should be grateful she wasn't in it for the glory.

I was horrified I might have been forcing her to go but she insists I was not.

She still keeps an eye out for the results and talks about it .......

...... still hope.

im terms of the club and where they are see it as a positive.

when i was that age none of my friends really bothered anyway, and the football has always been a bit of a family thing for me.

I totally understand. I did the same when I was that age. I was having fun at the back of the grangend and used to leave my grandfather who had introduced me to the City and had always taken me. In the end he stopped coming. Still feel guilty about it all these years later.

That's really sweet.

Ive been taking my son to the games from last October. On Saturday he started joining in with the chants.
