You're correct, but I've seen it all before with players being singled out. Seems like it's Etheridge this season already. He's raw and need work but I genuinely think he'll come good. Warnock knows what he's doing

Fans are entitled to their opinions, and tonight wasn't the first time he's made mistakes.

Warnock has faith in him, so thats good enough for me
But tonight we have to be honest Etheridge was poor and costly tonight.

Where are the topics about Bamba or Zohore? Both didn't show up tonight. Zohore wasn't interested at all. Poor team performance collectively. Etheridge contributed, but was hardly the worst player tonight.

He was, but the team were poor as a whole. I wouldn't be surprised if there's 5-6 changes come Saturday

Can you call a man of the match tonight? Maguire looked decent

Agree with your point, but give fans a chance to react to the match.
I think Etheridge deserves all the criticism coming his way, and the same goes for Zohore. I actually half-expected Ward to start over Zohore tonight. I know Bamba made mistakes too.
But all will get criticism from fans, that's part and parcel of being a footballer.
I don't see anyone making a scapegoat of Etheridge, just pointing out the mistakes he's made - and there's been a few already.
I also say that the manager should take most of the blame, as he took most of the credit when things were going well.

there is a thread...calamity Etheridge...so yes he is being scapegoated.
now had we deserved a win but lost 3 .2..fair enough. but having read reports we were lucky to finish 2nd.

Yes I made it as thats how I saw him tonight,my honest opinion, but that does not mean he should be picked on next game.
Surely we can say how we saw tonights players/game and give our own personal views

when a team is collectively that bad and outplayed..its a bit harsh then to pick one out..especially the one player who has the least chance to grit his teeth and make up for an error at the other end.

Sadly, I feel that a number of fans are already looking to single out Neil Etheridge for criticism (it's what some of them enjoy/need) but our record in the opening games tells the story. Until last night top of the Championship and a defensive record second to none. Neil Etheridge was part of that super run!
An extra big cheer for him on Saturday from me!

That makes perfect sense, he knows he's made some mistakes, but we need to get behind him it's really hard for a keeper if his own fans get on his back.

Not sure I understand your post. You're saying not to slaughter Etheridge and to get behind him and not to have a go at him, but you titled the post "Cardiff's new scapegoat" which is basically highlighting and encouraging people to make him the next scapgoat which you're then asking people not to do........
A lot of players read this forum, let's hope Etheridge doesn't.

It's sarcasm, highlighting the point that etheridge has, in my opinion been unfairly singled out for criticism. You're reading it far too seriously
