" Best and Worst debuts for City? "
Who in your opinion had the best debut for City and then turned out to be awful for us and on the reverse who had an awful debut and turned out to be a star

Was it Andy Jordan who scored an own goal on his debut and had an absolute nightmare?
Trouble was, he never improved!

Got a feeling he scored two own goals in his first two games at home but we won both games comfortably

I couldn't remember if he scored two own goals in one game or own goals in two successive games.
Either way, he certainly didn't get any better!

One of the best debuts in recent times was Jason Koumas at Ninian Park against the Scummers.
Came on in the second half, took control of the game and scored a magnificent winner. Doesn't quite fit with the criteria however as he went on to be brilliant for us in that initial loan season.

Craig noone

If i remember rightly Alan Lee scored two cracking left foot volleys on his debut at ninian park!

Alan Warboys scored two for us on his home debut, he never went on to become shite though as he was a quality striker. If we had signed him earlier that season, like straight after Toshack left, we might have won promotion, who knows.

Adrian Alston (Australian)(for our younger supporters), 2 goals against Chesterfield on a Friday night.
1 with his back to goal, swivelled and hit it on the volley.
Lots of waltz sing Matilda that night.
The Aussie RU team were sat in the grandstand .
It kick started our season with this signing.
25k as Luton were going bust.

Steve Thompson had a cracking debut
Scored two infront of the grange, both goals made by himself, then came out in the interview afterwards and said "Don't expect that every week"
Obviously never really backed himself

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall a certain oft referred to as a City 'legend' called Andy Campbell scoring 4 goals for us on this debut (possibly away during a thrashing of Oldham Athletic?) and went on to do little until that magic day in the MillStad!
Seems to fit the OP's criteria as well as any!

Best has to be Phil Stant loved that man
Worst Graham Withey probably one of the worst I saw and I've seen some bad
Interestingly on a different topic loved Malky Mackay's first game as manager showed PASHUN

Recent memory is nooney against Wolves.

Some guy called Toshack scored on his debut as a sub against Orient in the first game I went to. Didn’t turn out to shabby.

My Personal worst debut not mentioned yet was John Williams who was definetely Eddie May's worst signing. Sent off on a New Year's Day Drubbing by Maidstone United 5-0 defeat at Home, Totally S**t player.

I’ll always remember Dekel Keinan’s debut for us..away to the jacks in the championship and he and Hudson kept Sinclair out of the game and at that time Sinclair was in really good form so to stop them from scoring was just what we needed

Jon Parkin best debut, but that was it

One that hasn’t been mentioned yet is Bellamy cracking free kick from distance
