Only thing cant do is take it to your seat down city! Lots people spend practically whole game in bar on level 4! Guess its to do with with licensing laws and the like. mind you it would drive me mad to have people constantly walking past with beer in hands like at mil stadium

its a law of the land..since mid 1980s
its a criminal offence to drink alcohol within sight of the pitch during a game.
also the following are criminal offences
to drink alcohol on a public service vehicle going or returning from a game
to be in possession of alcohol on a public service vehicle going or returning
to be drunk on a public service vehicle going or returning
or to allow { coach companys } all of the above.
they all need repealing.

Glad you cant. I very occasionally watch the rugby and the crowd who go these days are a pain in the arse. Up and down to the bar and then the toilets, irrespective of whether someone is taking a penalty, don't watch the match, etc.

Agree the discrimination aspect is wrong, - but hey we are football supporters, the scum of the earth- so its ok.

We have to accept the history of football fans.Yes, there are idiots at rugby but there's no history of mass crowd violence.

The introduced laws were the correct for the time. UK football had to go through a form of chemotherapy it was a mess, it had to have severe measure to kill the cancer of UK football hooliganism.

But UK football is in full remission, we have beaten the disease it's time to review these laws. Just look at the new stadiums that sprung up over the last 25 years. You can drink all game and watch the game on CCTV under the stands or many lounges, so whats the difference about taking the pint to your seat ?

On a personal note...I would like a non alcohol coaches available for those who don't want to be within the beer culture, and would like clubs and not government not to allow beer in the stands during the game, as its a pain in the arse with supporters going back and forth to the bar during the game. Get you pint or pints before the game and during half time

when i started going {early 70s } there was no bar at NP ..well not in the terraced areas ..and this was the case at most grounds..
the official supporters coaches were also often reffered to as..pop and crisp buses..so i assume if the laws were ever repealed there would still be buses that were dry by club rules....
the drinking alcohol law applies to trains as well....not always policed but on occasion ive been on a dry train.
