Omar Bogle joins Peterborough on loan from Cardiff

Omar Bogle joined Cardiff from Wigan last summer

Cardiff City striker Omar Bogle will spend the rest of the season on loan at League One side Peterborough United.

Bogle has scored three goals in 12 appearances for Neil Warnock's side since joining from Wigan last summer.

The 24-year-old started his career at non-league Solihull Moors before moving to Grimsby.

Cardiff City Football Club are delighted to confirm the loan signing of Jamie Ward from Nottingham Forest.

The 31-year-old joins the Bluebirds for the remainder of the 2017/18 season, subject to international clearance.

The deal sees Lee Tomlin move in the opposite direction, with his loan deal with the Reds also running until the end of the current campaign. We wish Lee all the very best during his time at the City Ground.

Gary Madine is down the Vale, having a medical :thumbright:

Gary Madine appears to be edging closer to a move to the Welsh capital, with Bolton today agreeing a fee with the Bluebirds.

The striker is set to complete the formalities of the move later today, and there could yet be further additions.

Cardiff are one of two clubs battling it out for Bournemouth's Lewis Grabban, although City's attempts to snap up Norwich City's Marley Watkins have been batted away.

Expect at least two players to come in tonight :thumbright: :bluebird:

Gary Madine deal appears to be progressing at Cardiff City FC. Club hoping that won’t be the only incoming business today.

31/01/18

Cardiff City made an enquiry into Marley Watkins’ availabilty earlier today

The Bolton News claim that Gary Madine is on his way to the Welsh capital now.

31/01/18

Cardiff in talks with another player today who's not Madine or Grabban or Yasin Ben El-Mhanni from Newcastle. No idea who it is. But it’s getting desperate to get two players in before tonight’s transfer deadline.

31/01/18

Bournemouth are still willing to let Grabban go in this window.

Riath Al-Samarrai

@riathalsam
Very little movement expected at Bournemouth today. Lewis Grabban will go if a club can be found but incomings unlikely unless Afobe goes.

31/01/18

Cardiff make Madine breakthrough?

This could get things underway nicely.

Reports last night have suggested that Bolton Wanderers have accepted a bid for striker Gary Madine?

30/01/18

Bolton chairman Ken Anderson has stated it would take an "exceptional" bid for the Trotters to allow their leading goalscorer Gary Madine to depart this month.

Anderson said "We have received three different bids for Gary Madine from Cardiff City, but it will take an exceptional bid for the lad to leave Bolton Wanderers"

Neil Warnock is set to bolster his Cardiff attack by landing Lewis Grabban on loan from Bournemouth.

Striker Grabban was recalled from his loan spell at Sunderland earlier this month with Bournemouth hoping to move him on permanently.

But he is poised for another Championship loan spell, this time at promotion-chasing Cardiff.

Grabban, 30, scored 12 goals in 20 appearances for the Black Cats.

30/01/18

Warnock himself has had a somewhat frustrating January, recently admitting that he's lodged bids for as many as four players in this window but is yet to have any of them accepted. But Warnock says he expects two to be concluded by this Wednesday night on the final day of the transfer market :thumbright: :bluebird:

28/01/18

Neil Warnock not confident of signing striker, got 3 or 4 bids in but none have been accepted, said he won’t spend money for sake of it.

26/01/18

Neil Warnock revealed as many as five different strikers are on his radar as he looks to bolster Cardiff City's attacking options before the end of the January transfer window.

The Bluebirds have already added Marko Grujic and Yanic Wildschut to their ranks this month although Warnock has repeatedly stressed his desire to sign a forward after it was confirmed that Danny Ward would miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Wednesday 24th Jan 2018

Ipswich Town striker David McGoldrick has re-emerged as a top Cardiff City transfer target with Neil Warnock keen to get his final January deal done.

24/01/18

Newcastle United winger Yasin Ben El-Mhanni and Rotherham United's midfielder Will Vaulks were both linked with moves to the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday, with reports suggesting that Warnock might look to strengthen the Bluebirds' midfield as well as their strikeforce.

Blackburn midfielder Bradley Dack has appeared to pour cold water on a move to Cardiff, saying: “Right now I’m really enjoying my football and living up north, it’s something I’d like to see out.”

23/01/18

Bluebirds in for El-Mhanni

Some news from Twitter now - with the Daily Star reporting that Cardiff are interested in Newcastle winger Yasin Ben El-Mhanni.

However, they are not alone in chasing the Magpies’ man - with Leicester, Stoke and Wolves all also interested.

23/01/18

So it looks like Cardiff City’s pursuit of a striker this month has boiled down to four main options...

Lewis Grabban

The out-of-favour Bournemouth striker, who has been linked with Cardiff’s promotion rivals Wolves, is reportedly available for around £4million - if the Bluebirds will stretch to it.

Bradley Dack

A new name on the Bluebirds’ striker radar, the prolific Blackburn Rovers frontman is also wanted by a clutch of Championship clubs, including Aston Villa and Leeds United, but more a midfielder.

David McGoldrick

Cardiff have reignited their interest in the 30-year-old journeyman striker, currently at Ipswich, and he remains on their radar with only a week now remaining of the transfer window

Gary Madine

This one has gone quiet of late, although we know Cardiff are definitely interested in the Bolton target man.

Warnock Updates City Fans on transfers

NEIL WARNOCK:

“I’ve spoken about three or four strikers, but I’m hoping to get one of them before the next league match."

“We’ve got to get a bit better at finishing, but that will come with Yanic and Marko coming on and probably another striker coming in, it augurs well for the second half of the season."

“They’ve given us a bit more depth and showed what they could do with the first half before they ran out of steam, which is understandable.”

"Adam Forshaw has since joined Leeds United from Middlesbrough."

Forshaw to Leeds delay

Although the Adam Forshaw to Cardiff deal looks dead, for some reason we’re still awaiting confirmation that the midfielder is, as has been widely reported, joining Leeds United. No confirmation from the West Yorkshire club yet. The last we heard was that Forshaw was having a medical at Thorp Arch, the Leeds training ground.

18/01/18

Leeds hijack Forshaw deal and beat Cardiff City to Sign him.

18/01/18

First up on the agenda is a bit of news on Middlesbrough Adam Forshaw - and it doesn’t make for good reading if you’re a Bluebirds fan.

It looks like Leeds have hijacked a bid by Cardiff and secured the services of the midfielder at the 11th hour, with Forshaw set to have a medical in Yorkshire today.

Neil Warnock had been keen on Forshaw despite signing Marko Grujic yesterday afternoon but Forshaw seems to favour a move to Elland Road.

Adam Forshaw linked again

Both GetWestLondon and the Yorkshire Post have linked Adam Forshaw with a move to Cardiff today.

The 26-year-old was linked with a move to the Welsh capital last week, but both outlets claim the Bluebirds have maintained an interest and are willing to meet the £2.5m asking price.

However, they could well face competition from Leeds, who are also understood to be keen on securing a deal.

Bournemouth Premier League player Lewis Grabban keen on Cardiff move

Journalist Alan Nixon believes the forward, who’s been heavily linked with a move to the Cardiff City Stadium, is growing increasingly keen on ensuring a deal can be done.

Taking to Twitter, he said:

“Cardiff. Seems Lewis Grabban is swaying towards the move too. Having a real go here.”

It looks like Cardiff City are facing a fight if they want to land Bolton striker Gary Madine, with Phil Parkinson once again insisting that he will not be sold.

He told the Bolton News:

“His focus is great and I’d expect it to be. I don’t want to sell him and the chairman is adamant he is not going to sell him, so he’s going to be with us.
“We’re in a dogfight down the bottom, we know that, and there’s quite a few teams in there with us. We need our best players.”

12/01/18 CONFIRMED | #CardiffCity are delighted to announce the Loan signing of Yanic Wildschut from @NorwichCityFC! :thumbright: :bluebird:

The winger arrives at Cardiff City Stadium for the remainder 2017/18 campaign.

Having started his professional career in his native Netherlands with FC Zwolle, Wildschut also turned out for VVV-Venlo, SC Heerenveen and ADO Den Haag, before making the switch to Middlesbrough in 2014.

Since that date, the 26-year-old has gained ample experience of Championship football with Boro, Wigan Athletic and Norwich City.

12/01/18 ' Loan Deal '
Cardiff City are believed to be close to completing their first major signing of the January transfer window.

The Bluebirds are understood to be on the verge of sealing a loan deal for Norwich City forward Yanic Wildschut, and Neil Warnock is thought to be confident of wrapping up the formalities of the move in time for the visit of Sunderland this weekend.

Sky Sports 11/01/18

'WILDSCHUT SET FOR CARDIFF'

Norwich's Yanic Wildschut is set to join Cardiff on loan.

The 26-year-old winger has made only 13 league starts since joining the club a year ago and is now reportedly poised to join Cardiff, with a possibility the deal could become permanent in the summer.

11/01/18 Norwich City winger Yanic Wildschut is set to join Cardiff City on loan. And according to reports in Norwich, Wildschut looks set to complete a loan switch to the Welsh capital, with the Bluebirds having the option to sign the wideman on a permanent deal in the summer.

Yanic Wildschut has scored just once in 20 appearances for the Canaries so far this season.

10/01/18 NEIL WARNOCK: "We might have one in, I'd like to think we can get two in,I thought I had two coming in" he told BBC Wales Sport.

"In the transfer window it's amazing how long these things take. It's not an ideal scenario getting players in January - I might not have anyone in.

"I'm looking for strikers, players who can play in the Championship and will consider anyone we think we can do a job."

10/01/18 Just tweeted by Alan Nixon (reluctantnicko), who is often reliable with our transfer news:

Cardiff City interest in Gary Madine is real and causing some concern at Bolton. Can’t lose him. Cardiff want a striker. Grabban costly. Madine has done well this season. Wouldn’t put it past Warnock to sign two.

09/01/18 Fleetwood Town left back Amari'i Bell isn't a Cardiff City transfer target, Warnock instead set his sights on securing a central midfielder and a striker.

09/01/18 Cardiff City have suffered a setback with Besiktas captain — and reported target — Oğuzhan Özyakup, set to sign a contract extension.

08/01/18 Cardiff City are interested in bringing Bolton striker Gary Madine to South Wales during the January transfer window.

CARDIFF CITY PLAYERS OUT ON LOAN :bluebird:

Stuart O'Keefe (Portsmouth)

A favourite of former boss Russell Slade, O'Keefe's claim for a place in the team was largely affected last season by the competition from Aron Gunnarsson, Peter Whittingham and Joe Ralls.

The 26-year-old has had to fight for his place at Fratton Park too, and largely done so successfully, having made 21 appearances for Pompey in all competitions so far this season, netting two goals.

His impressive performances have earned him plenty of praise, with assistant boss Joe Gallen recently telling local newspaper The News : "Some players say too much and talk too much, but Stuart’s actions are his words, he trains very, very well".

Those words will certainly be a source of encouragement for Warnock.

Matty Kennedy (Portsmouth)

Like O'Keefe, Kennedy impressed during Cardiff's 2-1 win over Pompey in the League Cup, arriving at Fratton Park having made just 18 appearances for the Bluebirds since 2014.

Kennedy made no secret of his desire to stay in the Welsh capital even shortly after his loan move to the south coast was completed, lamenting that he wasn't sure if he'd ever pull on a Cardiff shirt again.

He enjoyed a good start under Kenny Jackett, making 22 appearances in all competitions. However, much like O'Keefe, he has found his place in the team come under increased competition in recent weeks.

Nevertheless, he has still managed to impress the Pompey boss, who said recently: "He's been unlucky to be out of the side. With Gareth Evans coming back in, Jamal Lowe and Kennedy it's quite a strong area for us".

Verdict: It's understood that Portsmouth have an option to make the wideman's stay permanent this January. Given that the likes of Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Junior Hoilett and the returning Kadeem Harris are likely to be ahead of him in the pecking order, it's difficult to see where precisely he would fit in.

Should he prove to be a regular again in this Portsmouth side, one suspects he could stay there.

Ibrahim Meite (Crawley Town)

The striker has made one just one appearance for the Bluebirds since his arrival from non-league Harrow Borough last January, although it's probably fair to say that few expected him to really hit the ground running straight away in the Championship.

A loan spell always looked likely, and the chance to link up with former Premier League star-turned up-and-coming EFL boss Harry Kewell must have been an attractive prospect.

Indeed, the 21-year-old has been in decent form under the Australian, who has been impressed by the way the towering striker has adapted to life in League Two. He recently told the West Sussex County Times: "He wants to prove not only to us but to Cardiff that he can play.

Verdict: Given his age and that the recent date of his arrival, one would initially suspect that the striker was in with a good chance of securing a future beyond his current deal at the Cardiff City Stadium, which runs out in the summer.

With his loan deal up in this January window, his case for making an impression in the Welsh capital season has arguably been aided by the mounting number of injury worries, with Warnock recently hinting that the forward could be given a chance to shine in the second half of the season.

He said: "We could do with him [Ibrahim] back really. We've got to look after ourselves in the second half of the season.

"I think Meite will be better for going away for a few months. It will show him what we're about and hopefully he'll come back stronger."

Ben Wilson (Oldham)

The Englishman has made just four appearances in a Cardiff City shirt since signing from Accrington Stanley in 2014.

The Sunderland academy product is due to return from a loan spell at Oldham Athletic in this window, although unfortunately he's not had as much first team action as he would have liked, having not made a single first team appearance for the Latics since September.

Haiti international Johny Placide appears to now be the number one choice at Boundary Park after a series of impressive performances, with Wilson having to make do with a place on the bench over the last few weeks after initially enjoying a decent spell in the team at the beginning of the season.

ARON GUNNARSSON

Neil Warnock said not long ago that he Gunners was one of the best players in the Championship and the Backbone of his team.

Will Gunnarsson stay at Cardiff?

Having already signalled his intention to leave the Welsh capital unless Cardiff seal promotion, the future of Aron Gunnarsson is looking uncomfortably uncertain at the moment.

The Icelandic midfield enforcer is currently out injured and isn’t due to return to action for a few weeks, but he’s nevertheless been linked with a move away.

Middlesbrough full back, Fabio has asked to leave the club this January.

Fabio asks to leave Boro

Former Cardiff City favourite Fabio da Silva has asked to leave Middlesbrough, according to boss Tony Pulis.

The full-back was not named in Boro’s matchday squad for the trip to Preston yesterday, and could now be on the move this month.

There clearly aren’t any hard feelings, with the former Manchester United man taking to Instagram to post the following message.

Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock says he expects Liam Feeney to stay at the club for the rest of the season, adding that he is also keen to bring in some new faces ahead of the visit of Sunderland in a fortnight's time.

Feeney did not make the matchday squad for the trip to Queens Park Ranges on New Year's Day, amid uncertainty surrounding his immediate future.

Race for Cameron Jerome?

As we reported last week, Cardiff City have been linked with a move for former striker Cameron Jerome.

Now, the Birmingham Mail reckon Birmingham City, another of the striker’s former clubs could also be keen on the Striker.

If Norwich really want £1mill plus, then count Cardiff City out.

Why in God's name does he want to keep Feeny who in my opinion offers us nothing in our attempt to get to the Premiership

Just my opinion of course but I think we need much better than Feeney just to hold onto a top 6 place, let alone anything higher.

Hope he's not one of the players that will be announced as a "new" signing on the basis that we're extending his loan period to the end of the season.

The fact that he's not wanted by a team in the division below us says it all really.

I would much prefer to have Matt Kennedy back on the wing than Feeney. We have a very good young talent out on loan who has potential to be brilliant and we loan him out to replace him with a player who has struggled to get in teams in the league below us. Very strange situation regarding Kennedy

Your right there, Feeney is No better than Kennedy and is three times more costly.

Sure he said during his interview after the loss there won't be anyone before the weekend. So don't think we actually have even agreed anything with any teams yet never mind singing someone this week

Kennedy needs game time - Feeney is quite happy to sit on the bench :thumbright:

Bogle on the move?

It appears that Omar Bogle is a target for Bristol City, according to transfer website Football Whispers/Rumours

The striker, who joined the Bluebirds in the summer from Grimsby, has been rated as a 2.2 out of five on the site, with anything between two and four described as a medium chance of happening.

Bristol Rovers have turned down 3 offers for forward Billy Bodin already. Preston preparing a large bid.

An assumed target for Cardiff, the Bristol Rovers forward Billy Bodin, is in the brink of joining Preston in a £450k deal - plus extras.

I understand Cardiff were never in the bidding - which is a shame because Bodin is decent. He wanted to stay local - and lives in the Swindon area.

If City cannot go for players worth 1 Million then what type of crap is going to be available to us. Some good players we could miss out on because of this, Bodin, Colback etc. We supposedly paid 1.6 Million for Tomlin and he is poor to say the least.

I think the (Warnock quoted) hint was when he said "I am looking to bring in some loan players and possibly one permanent signing" so valuations don't really come into it a lot! ;)

Neil Warnock will have his new men lined up and just needs to clearance from the man at the top! :ayatollah:
