" NEIL WARNOCK WILL UPDATE CARDIFF CITY FANS TODAY AHEAD OF THE BIG DERBY CLASH WITH BRISTOL CITY "
Friday 23rd February 2018
Warnock responds to reports of promotin bonus
NEIL WARNOCK:
"You have to take it with a pinch of salt. I read in the same report that Leicester has £6.7 or something but inflation, eh? Money doesn’t come into it. In the Championship, you don’t think about it, it’s just about getting the points on board."
Madine the difference at Portman Road
NEIL WARNOCK:
"I couldn’t wait to get him on at half-time. I kept telling him before half-time to keep warming up and he did brilliantly."
Warnock responds to Lee Johnson's atmosphere jibes
NEIL WARNOCK:
"You know, Lee (Johnson) is like his dad. He talks a good game and I don’t listen to much he says. I’m sure it will be a decent atmosphere, we’ll try and do our best for him.
" SEAN MORRISON / LEE PELTIER / ARON GUNNARSSON / JOE BENNETT / LOIC DAMOUR "
NEIL WARNOCK:
“Sean Morrison looked a bit stiff and we didn’t want to risk him with the big game on Sunday," added the City boss. "Lee Peltier is out for a month, but we’ve got Craig Bryson back, and Loïc Damour had 90 minutes under his belt.
"Joe Bennett missed out with an upset stomach, but hopefully we’ll have players like Aron Gunnarsson back in contention soon - he will be very important for us towards the end of the season.
NEIL WARNOCK:
“We’re going to keep going and take each game as it comes now. No extra motivation is needed for the Bristol City game- it’s going to be a cracking atmosphere, and a cracking game.”
ALL NEIL WARNOCKS UPDATES WILL BE BELOW "
Good news on Morrison
NEIL WARNOCK:
"It’s not as bad as I thought it would be. I thought that knowing our luck it would be six or seven weeks. The scan didn’t show anything, it’s a grade one so it’s a matter of days rather than weeks. It’s probably too soon for Sunday but I wouldn’t write him off knowing him. He was walking better yesterday and I think the scan results helped him as well."
Latest on Traore and Bennett
NEIL WARNOCK:
"Traore will be struggling. He has a little bit of a thigh problem. Joe Bennett had sickness and I’m expecting him to train, if not today then tomorrow. He’s a lot better and we’ve managed to restrict that. I think there’s only one lad has developed symptoms which isn’t too bad so that’s why I sent him home from Ipswich, to keep him away from the lads."
Paterson 'not training yet'
NEIL WARNOCK:
"Paterson isn’t training yet. I don’t know, that’s the answer to that. I don’t know if he’ll be okay for Sunday or not. He will definitely be okay for Brentford, I think. It’s not a serious thing, the brusing’s just come out and It’s just a matter of pain threshold for him, nothing serious, it’s his ankle. I don’t know about that until tomorrow.'
