World Cup Finals-Outside Bet ?

Postby City1983 » Sat Jun 02, 2018 5:08 pm

Who is everyone's Team who they think will be a surprise during the finals?

We all know the Germans, French Spanish! and the Brazilians will be there or there about at the end.

But my Team who will surprise a lot, are Denmark. They won't be fancied to get passed the group stages though have been playing well towards the end of the qualifiers and, smashed the Irish away!

Denmark for me..

Not really that much of an outside bet. But theres only 2 teams I can see upsetting the 'usuals' and that's Argentina and Belgium.

Realistically I would say 3 from CONMEBOL and 5 from Uefa can win it.

I would be amazed if it was anyone outside of this 8, I know it won't be a popular view but England have a good a chance as anybody, you only have to look at Portugal in the Euros.

Argentina
Brazil
Uruguay
Spain
France
Germany
Portugal
England

England are not even a good bet to get out of the group let alone win the Tournament

Mine would be Denmark they are very hard to break down and have real quality which can hurt any team when they play well.

Uruguay are also very good and have a decent group

Croatia for me I think they have go quite a good draw and see no reason why they cant make the Quarters maybe even the semis got some really good players.

I'll have a £100 charity bet with you that England get out of the group, don't talk wet, up for it?

Surely he means it's not worth betting on them as the odds are too low? Their group is that piss easy (always - how?!)

In my predictions I have them meeting Germany in quarters. They'll lose there.

Nah, he meant to get out of the group mate, hence he said, 'not even.. 'let alone'...if he did mean it how you say he's worded it badly.

Last 3 games against the Germans are one win, one draw, one defeat.

I don't give a shit about England to be honest, but they have not lost for a year now, including games against, Germany, Holland, Italy and Brazil, Southgate goes about it quietly and one off games, you just don't know, anything can happen, and they have some quality in their squad.

Every tournament has a surprise team in the semi.
Uruguay could well do it but would need to beat spain/Portugal in round two.
Poland are another team that should get through their group....

My outside bet would be Belgium. They have quality all over the park and if we hadn't knocked them out of Euros 2016 I reckon they would have won it.

I think Russia will do better than usual as they are home.

I expect Spain to reach the last 4 :thumbright:

And England to do far better than many expect as there is less pressure than usual on them.

There was less presure on England.......and then Kane opened his mouth.

If England somehow failed to get out of a very easy group it would round off a perfect football season for me. :D

Argentina really isn't an "outside bet " is it. Croatia got the best players of a small nation

Kevin De Bruyne 100/1 to be top goal scorer is an amazing price for me,Belgium are quite capable of reaching the semis and De Bruyne can score a goal or two.
A good outside bet and worth a punt

Matter of opinion isn't, Belgium have been threatening to do something for years now and never do, they often fold like a pack of cards when the pressure is on, great individuals, shit team.

I don't think England will win it, but I think they have a better chance than Belgium purely based on the fact for the first time in years nobody expects anything from them yet for me they have a young squad with some top quality in it.

Of course, it wasn't a dig :thumbright:
Just surprised as I think England will scrape through the group and lose last 16 as always.
I think Belgium could get to the semis but I have to agree that they buckle under pressure.
Its also concerning that Martinez didn't pick Naingoolan as he's a top top player :thumbright:
