Cardiff City's 2018/19 Premier League campaign didn't get off to the best of starts as the Bluebirds were beaten 2-0 by Bournemouth in their season opener at the Vitality Stadium.

But whatever the outcome of their season back in the top flight, Neil Warnock has stressed that the club are now in a stronger position for the future as a result of their summer dealings.

The Bluebirds recruited no fewer than six players over the course of the close season.

They also saw 11 first team stars put pen to paper on fresh terms.

And it means regardless of whatever happens during the course of the season, the Cardiff faithful can rest easy knowing that the footings have been put in place for the Bluebirds to enjoy a prosperous future.

Here's exactly when the contract of every member of Cardiff's first team expires:

What's become of the 29 Cardiff City signings made by Neil Warnock

By Dominic Booth

Tuesday 27th November 2018

The January transfer window is fast approaching and it's clear Cardiff City must do some excellent business to bolster their Premier League survival bid.

Neil Warnock is no stranger to a January deal, having brought in five players at this stage last season to aid the Bluebirds' successful promotion bid.

In all, the veteran boss has signed 29 players across more than two years in the Welsh capital.

Who else will be added to this list and will they be a bargain gem like Sol Bamba or a big money flop like Gary Madine? Only time will tell...

Sol Bamba - A genius free transfer, still a rock at the back.

Junior Hoilett - Another great signing on a Bosman, even if he's lost a bit of form this season.

Kieran Richardson - Made six appearances after signing on a free but left a few months later. Still unattached.

Marouane Chamakh - Played 48 minutes of football but didn't look up to it. Hasn't found a club since.

Junior Hoilett and Sol Bamba have proven hugely astute free transfers for Cardiff City

Allan McGregor - Joined on loan from Hull and proved a valuable stop-gap in goal before returning to Humberside. Now back at Rangers.

Greg Halford - A Warnock favourite from Rotherham who was a utility option from the bench until he left in the summer. He's still without a club but has been training with an unnamed team in the Midlands. We caught up with him recently for this fascinating interview on life as a jobless footballer.

Ibrahim Meite - Brought in from Harrow Borough as an option for the Under-23s and is still with the club.

Lee Camp - Never made a first team appearance in 12 months and left for Birmingham where he is first choice.

Neil Etheridge - Signed on a free from Walsall and proved a big hit between the posts.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing - Nobody had heard of the Rochdale winger but he starred on the wing in last season's promotion. On his way back from injury at the moment.

Callum Paterson - Signed from Hearts as a right back (for £350,000 compensation) but has been brilliant in almost every other position.

Loic Damour - Played a decent amount last season after signing from Bourg-en-Bresse but now appears marginalised.

Danny Ward - Another who Warnock poached from his old club Rotherham and has been a useful addition to the striking department.

Lee Tomlin - Much was expected of the £1.5million signing from Bristol City but he was plagued by inconsistency. Still contracted to the club but not in the 25-man Premier League squad and effectively an outcast.

Omar Bogle - A gamble at £750,000 from Wigan that never really came off. Now on loan at Birmingham, he's made 11 appearances this season without scoring.

Craig Bryson - A useful loan signing from Derby County who played a big role in promotion and is back with the Rams as a regular under Frank Lampard.

Liam Feeney - Loaned from Blackburn and got an assist on his first appearance, but faded and now plies his trade for Blackpool.

Rolf Feltscher - Remember him? Signed as defensive cover, but never made a first team appearance before moving to LA Galaxy. Played 16 times for LA in 2018, amassing six yellow cards in the process. He's just been released from the club alongside Ashley Cole.

Gary Madine - £6million was spent to lure Bolton's key striker to South Wales, but the wait for a first team goal lingers on.

Yanic Wildschut - Looked like he could be an important loan signing from Norwich but made little impact. Now on loan at Bolton.

Marko Grujic - The on-loan Liverpool youngster was a classy addition in midfield during a 13-game spell. Loaned to Hertha Berlin in the summer where he's been at the centre of a very special story earlier in the season.

Jamie Ward - A loan swap with Tomlin saw Ward arrive from Nottingham Forest, but he only played four games. Now on loan at Charlton where he's scored one goal in 10 games.

Armand Traore - Like Ward, came on loan from Forest. And like him, his spell was blighted by injury. Since joined Turkish side Rizespor.

Josh Murphy - Looks to be worth every penny of his £11million transfer fee from Norwich. A real bright spark this season.

Greg Cunningham - Eyebrows were raised when Warnock shelled out £4million on another left-back, but the Irishman looks solid.

Alex Smithies - His only first team game came in the Carabao Cup. Likely to get a chance in the New Year when Etheridge goes to the Asia Cup.

Bobby Decordova-Reid - The jury still is out on the £10million man from Bristol City but he looks a lively attacking player. He's also an interesting guy, who has made a personal decision this season about the name on the back of his shirt.

Victor Camarasa - Appears a brilliant find on loan from Real Betis. A class act in midfield.

Harry Arter - Another excellent loan signing, at home in a Premier League midfield.

Rolf Feltscher joined LA Galaxy just 33 days after signing for Cardiff City
