Injury update on Joe Ralls and others
Joe Ralls will be in the matchday squad this weekend.
Kenneth Zohore and Jazz Richards will miss the clash with Brighton.
NEIL WARNOCK:
“He’s (Joe Ralls) training, he’s not been able to do any training until this week. He had a tough day yesterday and we’ll see how he is. He’ll definitely be in the squad. “
“Jazz Richards and Zohore are both out too, Zohore’s had a calf injury. That’s the difference with the top teams, they’ve got Under-23 internationals to come into the squad, whereas we’ve only got 17 or 18 players fit at the moment. That shows the divide.”
TEAM NEWS:
BRIGHTON:
Pascal Gross and Davy Propper are both likely to be absent from the Albion squad, with boss Chris Hughton targeting a comeback for both midfielders after the international break.
CARDIFF CITY:
Cardiff have two long-term absentees, winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has been sidelined since August with a knee injury and right-back Lee Peltier has been out since September with a shoulder problem.
Plus Midfielder Harry Arter is suspended for the match after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Leicester.
What are the betting odds?
Despite being six places and nine points below Albion, Cardiff are considered favourites for the win with SkyBet, with odds of 6/4 for a home victory.
An Albion win is priced at 19/10 with odds on a draw slightly higher at 21/10. Albion's top scorer Glenn Murray is priced at 4/1 to be the first goalscorer and 13/8 to score anytime.
Bobby Reid, Callum Paterson and Kenneth Zohore are all 13/2 to open the scoring for the Bluebirds, and are all 5/2 to score at any point during the 90 minutes.
Harry Arter
A fifth yellow card in nine Cardiff appearances means the on-loan Bournemouth star - who was actually among Cardiff's best performers against Leicester, is now suspended for Brighton home this Saturday.
I can’t make it to Cardiff City Stadium, is the match on TV?Yes, the match is live on Sky Sports.
About Brighton & Hove AlbionBrighton & Hove Albion Football Club is a professional football club from Brighton based in Falmer, East Sussex, England. They currently compete in the Premier League, the top tier of the English football league system. Brighton's home ground is the 30,750-capacity Falmer Stadium, known for sponsorship purposes as the American Express Community Stadium, or simply the Amex.
Founded in 1901, and nicknamed the "Seagulls" or "Albion", Brighton played their early professional football in the Southern League, before being elected to the Football League in 1920. The club enjoyed greatest prominence between 1979 and 1983 when they played in the First Division and reached the 1983 FA Cup Final, losing to Manchester United after a replay. They were relegated from the First Division in the same season.
By the late 1990s, Brighton had slipped to the fourth tier of English football and were in financial trouble. After narrowly avoiding relegation from the Football League to the Conference in 1997, a boardroom takeover saved the club from liquidation. Successive promotions in 2001 and 2002 brought Brighton back to the second tier, and in 2011, the club moved into the Falmer Stadium after 14 years without a permanent home ground. In the 2016–17 season, Brighton finished second in the EFL Championship and were thus promoted to the Premier League, ending a 34-year absence from the top flight.
Previous MeetingWe last played Brighton in a Championship fixture in January 2017. We lost 1-0 at the Amex after second half goal by Tomer Hemed.
