David Wagner on Cardiff clash

Huddersfield boss David Wagner has been speaking to the media ahead of this weekend’s clash with Cardiff, a game he admits is a ‘must-win’ for his side.

DAVID WAGNER:

“This is a very important game for us, a game we have to win."
“We have to be at our against Cardiff City to win.
“It’s all about standing up.
“Standing up and taking responsibility for everything you can influence. “If everyone can give the individual energy and responsibility, then we can have enough.
“The reality at the minute is that I’m not happy because we and I haven’t delivered what we expect.
“I and we have to turn this.”

I like Wagner, he has bags of passion and is a remarkable manager however whether his side will be at the races against us is another thing, I can see this being a shaky affair for them and on our best form we should comfortably beat the terriers 2-1 or 3-1

Wolfie, a comfortable 2.1 win. Not inspiring me much there mate. I think we are gonna have to treat it as a cup tie, on second thoughts, err, lets just say we need to come out firing and be positive from the start. A real howler of a game.

I hope they do play to win, we are not great against teams that come for a point and try and defend, we can't break teams down, we are better when teams have a go.

Very few teams have turned up to defend when playing us this season.

David Wagner is predicting a quiet transfer window and refused to confirm whether Huddersfield have approached Leicester striker Shinji Okazaki.

He said ahead of their trip to Cardiff this weekend: "Nothing significant where I can say anything is around the corner.

"Everybody knows the circumstances which we have, nobody knows it better than I do but even this is a challenge which is exciting and we will see.

“I don’t like to comment on any individual names. This makes no sense because the window is open, we have to be patient and on the other side all of the players are not our players.

“We know how difficult it is. We have to find to a target, that is the easy bit. Then we have to convince the target and find solutions as well and we know how difficult it is. I have hope, yes, but I am not certain something will happen.

“I am not able to confirm anything to any name.”
