Possible new club crest

This but take away Fire & Passion and put est 1899 there

I dident say it was the best but its 100x better than our current crest

Thanks for your comments on my badge guys. This was just the draft and not the badge I gave to Cardiff city to consider for next season. This one doesn't really look professional, but I wait like the rest of you in hope that Cardiff may change the badge for next season. I won't put my proposed badge on here as if Cardiff do use it, it would be better if they were to unveil it and not me on the forum. Just hope they change it, regardless of the design used.

Don't suppose you have any idea when they are likely to make a decision on the badge?

I don't like the modern looking badges, I prefer a more classic look. I liked the op's, better than the others

why do people keep using blue in the designs, tan clearly doesn't want blue in it at all

I don't like any of the posted badges at all.

Only like our old bluebird badge from last season.

I also think two different type of animal/creatures! In the same badge looks dopey! You can only really associate yourself to one type of animal.

How about this? Its not really a compromise but I like it as its simple. Try not to be too mean, it took me all of 20 minutes to make last night! I still prefer Karl's badge but I'm not convinced we'll be allowed that much blue on it unfortunately..

Thanks for your comments regarding the ideas i put together. I too really like Karls as its the most modern looking but it does look like the bluebird is fighting with the dragon which i suppose is quite apt actually. Anyway, the ones you see above literally only took about 40 mins max so still just rough drafts and far from being finalised artwork.

I agree with the majority though, would defo prefer the original 'top left' badge. Originally all i wanted to do was create a version that was as close to the original as possible. The middle right one was supposed to be that and the others just developed from it.

I'm just glad its managed to get some discussion going which is what i was trying to encourage in my original tweet so happy days.

I think everyone appreciates work people put in to design a new badge, its always gonna be tricky as everyone inc myself wants to keep the original badge. I hope you didn't mind me re-tweeting last night inc Steve Borley, I think he actually told you to send details to the club.

If and I mean if, I would love Karl P's Badge, its rather refreshing and looks the part.

No i didnt mind at all, in fact i was pleased that so many retweeted and commented. Its a very tricky brief and one that doesnt have a solution that will please everyone (and i include Tan in that). Was one of the reasons why I attempted it becuase displaying visual ideas is the most effective way of getting an idea of what people want. Maybe the club should have done this before rolling out the current beer mat looking badge.

To be honest, i'm going to be biased but my favourite (although it's still in a rough state) is the middle right version that i done as i feel it incorporates the original brand more and would make it easier and would look more subtle to change back should the fans ever get their way. Going for a complete rebrand now I think would end up permanent (how many times can you rebrand a club realistically?)

I hate to make reference to the Swans but the centenary badge they have now is deliberately similar to their original one as they know its only temporary and will need to change back soon which is kind of what i was hoping to get from mine (middle right).

Anyway, keep the discussions going, they're definitely productive

Some guy on Twitter been posting the designs he's come up with as suggestions for a new club crest, just thought I'd share his work with you, he's account name is @NickFudge2013 (i assume he's nothing to do with the club, he's just some guy messing with designs)

Unfortunately intentional! I'm trying to go for realistic options and I can't imagine it staying to be honest

No offense to anyone who has designed badges because they've put time and effort into them but I do think Tan will want the new badge to be distanced from the old badge as much as possible. Whether we like it or not he's trying to put his own stamp on the club so its a waste of time using our old badge as a template. We'd all love it back with a simple tweak here and there but its not going to happen.

The best we can hope for in my opinion is a fresh design that is going to appeal to Tan whilst also having a bit of a compromise. Anyone clinging on to the hope he will use a design similar to our old badge or with blue as a major colour is hoping for too much. We need to be realistic.

Unfortunately i think you might have a point there.

I suppose at least they have some ideas of how a compromise could look before ruling the possibility out but i know what you're saying. Karls could maybe work without the bluebird (with a bit of tweaking to accommodate that) if thats the case but hopefully it isnt as we would all love to keep the bluebird at least.

The dragons in the new badges look camp with that front hand

Haha, could just remove the arm and have just the body in the circle. The dragon is taken from the top right of the original badge. It was traced : /

I have a feeling the new design wont include a bluebird or have any blue in it. Its more likely to be a slightly amended version of the one we have. They will probably remove the bluebird, soften the edges on the shield, ditch the 'fire & passion' bollox and tweak the dragon a bit. It will probably look like Liverpool's with a dragon stuck on it !

I personally would like us to go for a circular design, like the one that has been posted quite a few times. Doubt we'll get it though.

Sorry, I hate them all. Its Karls by a country mile, I love it, but realistically he will have to face the bluebird the other way and have to take the blue out SADLY

What's the chances of Karl's badge design being used next season? I seriously hope Vincent Tan will consider and accommodate fans with this badge. Maybe a petition for this badge will prove its popularity among city fans?

Obviously I very doubt VT will consider the badge but it's worth a go?
