Terrible news. A genuine bloke who (at the end of the day) was only ever doing his job. He helped me out of scrapes on numerous occasions and I can't thank him enough. RIP Simon, a true Blue and a real gentleman

I'm truly shocked, stunned and saddened by this news. A top top bloke and friend and a big City fan that would help anyone out even whilst on duty. My last dealings with Simon was when he had to search me before entering the ground at the league cup game against Northampton.
I can't believe he is gone so young, just 6 months older than me.
R.I.P Simon and sincere condolences to your family.
Will surely be missed by a lot of people.

I did a bit of work with Simon in the past and he really was a genuine decent man. He really cared about fairness. There's not many coppers left like Simon. He will be sadly, sadly missed, not just as a copper but as a Cardiff fan as well. Truely a sad loss.
