Ned this was a typical southgate game ultra cautious no ambition to win game at any stage... your right a better team will beat England based on their two games so far

We have four points and it will 99.9% be enough.


Group B will probably have a third placed team with a maximum of three points. For that not to happen Denmark would have to not beat Finland as well as Belgium not beating Russia.


The third placed team in Group C will be only three points unless Austria v Ukraine ends in a draw.


Group F will only have a third placed team reach four points if France don't beat Portugal.


In Group D, if there's a draw between Croatia and Scotland then the third placed team will have less than four points.


If Spain beat Poland tonight, then they would have to not beat Slovakia for the third placed team to get four points.


The chances of at least three of those going against us are extremely unlikely.


Put together with the fact that in our group, Turkey can't catch us and Switzerland need a five-goal swing in goal difference.

Won't be a high scoring game tomorrow because Italy are rotating their team.

The high probability is we will finish 2nd but at the very least we'll get a best third placed team.
